Parade noise level?

I am really interested in seeing the various parades, but what is the noise level like? Is it just music? My kids don't like the local July 4th parade because it's too loud with the sirens and stuff. I am not sure if we should stay for the park parades or not. Thanks for your advice!

The only parades I've seen are Spectromagic and Share A Dream Come True (think that's what it's called). Anyway, there is just music and occasional "talking" in them. It is loud but it's not unbearable, annoying or scary loud. It's just festive loud if that makes any sense. :)

It's nothing like the local parades you would see w/ the fire sirens and marching bands and such. It is music that is played over a sound system throughout the whole parade route.

My DD does not like the sirens either, but I think she will love Spectromagic! :)

all your input! I thought the parades would be a great time to see some of the characters, but didn't want my sons scared with the noise. We want to do the ones at MK, AK and MGM. I know that anything involving fireworks is a no go also, but hopefully these afternoon parages will be great!

We have a little one who is very noise sensitive and finds the parades and fireworks and many shows to be no fun! We got her a pair of these:

and it makes all the difference! She grabs them and puts them on whenever needed and enjoys much more now. She is 4 now and has been using them for a year. They have been well worth the money!!

Both of my sons have special needs( cerebral palsy, etc) and noise sensitivity is part of it. Can you tell me how well the sensory comfort headphones work? Someone else suggested going to Home Depot for the kind of headphones you would wear for mowing. Do you think the sensory comfort ones would be better? Thanks.

We saw Spectromagic last night with my 20 month old son, he was not bothered at all by the music. It did get a little loud, but he was so fascinated with everything that was going on it didn't bother him a bit.
Have fun!

MarieS--the headphones actually work quite well. I have been known to borrow them for mowing the yard. They fit her well but they are a bit snug on me. They are probably the same as mowing headphones, but smaller. I've seen people use the foam plugs but she wouldn't use them.
