I have a few questions for my upcoming trip. We are heading for our first visit in a few weeks Sunday-Thursday. I had assumed that fantasmic would only be on the Sunday, but it seems to be every night while we are there. I’d really appreciate some advice on the following questions. :)

1. We have blue bayou fantasmic package for the Sunday, so our only chance to watch the fireworks (other than at the Halloween party) we will have to watch from fantasmic. Should I try to change this package to the Monday so we can watch the fireworks on the castle?

2. For the Halloween party, what time should we wait for the parade? If we go to the first parade and get a good spot for the fireworks, how early should we arrive?

3. If we watch the second parade, would it work if we came just as the parade was ending to grab a spot on the street where the parade had been to watch the fireworks?

Any other advice for parade and firework viewing? I don’t want to spend hours waiting in a good spot and miss other things, but the parades and fireworks are what make Disney special!

Have a back up plan in case the fireworks are canceled. It is not uncommon for fireworks to get canceled at DL for safety reasons (usually due to unsafe wind conditions), so be aware that the show could get called off anywhere from right before to halfway through.
If you want to be right in front of the castle for fireworks, you may have to hold your spots for several hours. The further back you are willing to be, the less of a wait you will have. We've watched RDCT from Main Street with about an hour's wait.
