Paperwork needed besides ETA for UK and US passport?

And VISAs! You used to have to mail your passport to a consulate to get a 'proper' visa in your passport. All I got from the UK for the ETA was an email. Boring!

I had to get a visa for Cuba and it was on a loose piece of paper! I put it in my passport and I was like "ack! I can't lose that!!"

Yes, my Swiss friend had to show her (paper) ESTA in the UK before boarding the ship, a couple of times. I blamed it on the people Disney hired at the port, not being able to see her ESTA online because I had to upload it to her file.

I wonder if the piece of paper for Cuba was . . . because sometimes it's better not to have a stamp in your passport for some countries? I think my first passport ever said I was not allowed to go to Cuba. I remember having gone to Israel one year and then trying to get into Morocco (1979?) and worrying that they might not let me in.

Yeah, gotta have that slip of PAPER! My visas were all stamped or stickers . . . thank goodness!

No, since it has happened to me every single time, I am sure it’s not just incompetence, but either lack of training or specific policy.

it was, but it was just SO precarious! I was paranoid I would lose it and I THINK I had to show it to leave (and to pay the exit fee hahaha)

As I said in the previous reply: it’s either a DCL or cruise port issue. I have had to show a printout out of my ESTA every time I boarded a ship in or to the USA.

I’m the same. I have had to show my ESTA (screenshot was fine) when I have boarded from the U.S. however I didn’t have to show it on the EBTA.
