I was reading a site about OKW and it says there are Paper Plates and plastic utensils in the rooms, is this true? What about the bowls..it just says bowls? If the plates are paper, how many do they give you?

There are paper plates, bowls and plastic utensils. You start out with a minium of 4 each, be sometimes we end up with more. We always bring some "disposable" glad or ziplock containers for cereal, PB&Js in the park (my DD is fussy) and leftovers. You also get a small sponge and dishsoap to clean glasses and any plastic ware you bring with you.

So, with four of us, we should get 16 of each? And the bowls are paper as well? Do they replace all of this stuff on the 4th trash and tidy day?

Thanks Robin! Your little one is a doll, she looks just like my two! And what does LOTW mean?

Mousekeeping will give you more plates/bowls/utensils any time you run out. Just call.

Thanks :). Yours must be cute too! LOTW = Lush of the World.

You get more stuff on the Trash and Tidy day and as jekjones1558 says you can always ask for more.

Just for clarification, the minimum you will receive is service for 4. You can request more and we have. There should also be 4 glasses and 4 mugs, plastic utensils, a can opener and a corkscrew.
Normally they do restock your paper items on T&T day but if you look in the DVC Vacation Planner paper plates and utensils are not listed as part of T&T service. Don't know if that was a given or an omission or intentional.

Most likely you will have a 4 paper plates, and 4 paper bowls. Many times we have only had 2 ceramic mugs (not 4) and 4 glasses. We've also more often than not, just been given 4 each of plastic spoons, knives and forks. Yes, there is a corkscrew. Sometimes we have been given more than one coffee package.

The OKW studio that we had was well stocked, I don't remember how many of each item, but we had more than enough on that trip. I also bring Handy containers, for cereal eating and to store fruit salad that I make. I bring a pen knife and a cutting board.

My advice is if you are planning to stay in studios regularly, go to REI, Lands End, or the like and buy a camping set of plates, bowls, and utensils. The bowls et al. stand up for a couple of days but after that....My $.02.

.

We think they are......blond and curly! I thought maybe it was a Lush, with the cups and all, but it could be Lover of the World too I guess!

Hi neighbor! We are actually in Haymarket now, so a little further away from you. With all the new growth here, we rarely make it to Manassas anymore, except for Costco of course!

and...We will only do cereal in the morning, so for this trip, don't need much more than a few bowls and I like to throw stuff away! As much the opposite as a pack rat as one can get.

I didn't see it mentioned here, but the paperware is only in the studios. My guess is because there is no dishwasher in studios. 1, 2, and 3 bdr units have fine china and silver. :thumbsup2

This photo is a BWV studio, but basically only the decor is different. Your OKW will be similar.

You can see the paper plates, and bowls (directly in front of the plates), glass with the plasticware inside it, and mug. In our case, this unit had 2-glasses and 2-mugs. (The others were being used and are on the countertop in the photo)

BTW, depending on what you use them for, it is possible to use the plates or bowls more than once. For example, if we just fix a sandwich, such as cold cuts, cheese, etc, with potato chips, it doesn't really get the plate dirty and it can be used again.

Same with the bowls and some cereal. It is possible to wash, dry, and reuse some of them, again depending on what you originally used them for.

Do they supply paper towels by chance? Or give real towels for the kitchenette?

We always buy a dinner set and cutlery from Walmart. It cost ous all of $7 last time so we left it for the mouekeeping afterwards

Yes, both. There will be a kitchen towel as well as paper towels.

BTW, when we stayed in a studio, we asked for real silverware, and they happily brought us some.
