Paper Navigator Status

I’m all for going paperless for the environment, but I wish they would have a tv screen in the lobby cycling through the app screens so that my tweens who do not have phones can see the schedule. Like the boards in the theme parks that show the ride wait times around the park for guests who don’t have the app.

Good idea - on Liberty of the Seas with RCCL last year there were screens on each floor by the stairs that could be clicked on to reveal the itinerary of ongoing and upcoming events.

That is a great idea! That would also work for those who like to put their phones away for the cruise and not use the app.

Carnival threw in the towel last week. They are going back to printing their version of their Navigator and leaving one in your stateroom every day. Not sure how much longer Disney can hold out.

I don't know if getting rid of paper schedules is a thing that other cruise lines have done or want to do but I would guess no. I know we got one every day on our HAL cruise in Aug. I think Disney is missing out here. I really don't know if it's anything more than cost saving, because I have a hard time believing it's anything else - environmental impact? Idk, we're on a cruise ship, I think the environmentalists might have quite a bit to say there. It just seems like such a silly thing to put a stop to. The Navigator used to give you information about the various venues, highlight the cruise entertainment to expect, promote specialty dining, drink of the day, etc. Sure, the app is great to have, but it doesn't always do everything the paper navigator did.
