PAP merchandise discount with child's ticket?

Can I use my child's PAP to get the 20 percent merchandise discount? If so I will probably upgrade her ticket to PAP,

Your child would have to pay for everything since the discount is good only for the PAP holder. I suppose if you wanted to use cash for all purchases it would work, but if not you'll be out of luck.

Just curious...why not upgrade your ticket? PAP's (and regular APs) are the same price for both adults and children.

Whenever we ask for an AP discount, we are most always asked to show photo ID. So I would think the discount is for adults only.

As PP mentioned, all APs are now priced the same. Why not upgrade an adult ticket?

I've been using the PAP all week, and had to show my driver's license each and every time to get the discount. It would be a pain to try and pay using a child's pass. I guess you could have the child there with you each time, and just use cash.

With a child's ticket for PAP discount, we had to have charge priviledge, charge to her card & carry her passport around for id. DD11 was only one at the time with pass, as we were all off kilter on renewals at the time. We did have some CMs that were VERY rude & un-Disney-like about it. Good luck!

Well, I guess we have been lucky. I had an AP but my granddaughter (11 to 12) had the PAP and we WERE able to show her card and charge the purchases to my credit card and my room card, getting the 20% discount. She was always present with me at the purchase. And we did this didat various stores on multiple trips while she had the PAP.

Because of the rule that you cannot upgrade a pass that costs more than 399. Only kids' passes purchased last year were that cheap.
