Ok, even though I've been to Disney several times, it's been over 7 years since I was there last, and so - we are all very 'pumped' and excited about our upcoming trip. We are leaving this coming Monday morning, and I am having panic attacks, thinking that there is so much I didn't get 'planned' ahead for, or that I don't 'know' things that I should know....
We are driving, and staying at the Hampton Maingate-just minutes away from the entry to WDW. Since we have a car, we'll be able to go to grocery stores, etc. so - no problem about getting things we need while there. But, how much/what can we get away with taking in with us? Can we take in sandwiches, and lots of snacky things? Also, did I just really screw up in not making 'preferred seating' arrangements at some of the restaurants there, ahead of time? And if so, which ones are the best to eat at, given the fact that we are going to be trying to save as much $ as we can, but yet still want to 'splurge' once every day or two by a main 'sit down' meal in a restaurant there at/in the park.

I got the "Unofficial Guide" to WDW (that's a HUGE book with mega info- more than I think I can handle remembering!), and I was wondering if anyone out there has used it and gone by their 'touring schedules'...and followed them to the tee..... if so, did you find that they were easy to do(not wear you out running from one place to another to fit the scheduled time slots), and did they 'work'? I mean, did you find that it really did help cut the wait times in lines?

We got a 7 day ticket for WDW and a 3 day ticket to Universal. Since we get the 5 'bonus' visits to the 'extra' places (ex. Pleasure Island, Blizzard Beach, DisneyQuest, etc), I am so freaking out that we are not going to be able to fit it all in. I made an 'itenarary' to follow, and don't know if it is 'feasible' or not....
What d'ya think?
Day 1-Leave Tulsa-drive all day/late evening. spend the night at wherever we conk out.
Day 2-Drive all day and get to Kissimmee early evening (?). Put stuff in hotel and go out to either Pleasure Island, Downtown Disney/Disney Boardwalk area, or go 'sightsee' some of the DIsney hotels and resorts.
Day 3-Magic Kingdom all day/night
Day 4-Epcot all day/night
Day 5-Animal Kingdom until late afternoon. Then, back to hotel to clean up and change, then go to Pleasure Island till close.
Day 6-Blizzard Beach till early evening. Back to hotel to change/clean up and then go to DisneyQuest till they close. (which is what time? don't know)
Day 7-Sleep late at hotel, then go to Epcot again and finish up whatever we didn't see/do a few days ago.
Day 8-MGM park all day/night
Day 9- open to go to any park(s) which we need to 'repeat' or finish up at.
If we have time, then at night- go to Pleasure Island, or see more Disney resorts/hotels.
Day 10-Typhoon Lagoon 1/2 day (or more?), then other half of day/evening- go to any of the 4 parks as needed? or maybe Disneyquest/Pleasure Island/Sports Complex/etc. ???
Day 11-Universal Studios
Day 12-Islands of Adventure
Day 13-either of the Universal Parks- as needed
Day 14-Leave early to drive back home...stop at Destin/Pensacola area for a few hours to play at beach. Drive on till late night. Stop at ? to spend night.
Day 15-Drive on in to Tulsa. Arrive late.
Day 16- back to reality. lol

Ok- so-------- what awesome suggestions do any of ya'll have?? I need to be comforted that I am stressing out unneccesarily.... !!!

Don't stress, just have a good time! You seem to have a pretty good itenerary, so just try to relax and have a good time! That is half the battle. If you are constantly worrying about what you will be/should be doing, you will not enjoy what you ARE doing! Just remember...if you miss something, it will be there next trip!
BTW, I live in Muskogee! Glad to see a neighbor here!! And we have driven to WDW 3 times....it's not too bad a trip! ::MinnieMo

This makes me tired just reading it. Relax and enjoy your trip. I really think you should call for PS if you want to eat at one of the nicer places just call Disney and ask. We always make a list of must sees and take them as they come. The water parks are fun but you might not need (or can stand ) an entire day there (we tend to burn easily). DQ is great and I think they stay open until 10:00- 11:00. I am a planner by nature but sometimes it is just better to enjoy the magic :wizard: Good luck, be safe and enjoy.

Hi,

You didn't say who is traveling. If you have kids with you or if not, you might want to take a break during the day and go back to your hotel pool and just relax. The parks are open late and if you are there from opening you might not make it to closing with the heat.

If you plan on eating between 5-6 you might have a bit of a wait. Just be flexible and enjoy. If you go with the idea that you MUST see everything than you will be stressing and that's not what vacation is about.

The only advice I have is to take a down day before "reality" sets back in...lol. You're gonna need it with a busy vacation. Good luck and have a great time!

I would make a few priority seating reservations (now called ADRs). If you have kids, try Crystal Palace (Pooh and Friends), Chef Mickey's (Mickey Mouse and Friends), and Whispering Canyon. Here is a link to menus: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm

Enjoy your trip!
