Ok panic has set in!
Our CAA membership has expired since we booked. Husband said not to renew cause our cars are new and have factory warranty.
Someone just told me that we need to bring the card and show it at check in??
Is this true?
If so I have to get a membership tomorrow since we leave on Friday!!!
Yikes!

You might be asked to show the card. Otherwise anyone could claim the CAA rate. We have been asked to produce the card in the past.

We have booked and paid through CAA! Have our tickets/ Vouchers... I'm just questioning if we have to show it at check in on Friday!

You might. It depends on the cast member checking you in. Sometimes they ask for it, sometimes they don't.

Theoretically speaking; every cast member checking someone in is suppose to ask for your CAA card (just as they should for AP's and proof of Florida residency), otherwise anyone could claim the discounts.

Guess what DH will be doing before work tomorrow...LOL

We have never been asked but our CAA TA said to bring it with us just in case. Maybe they never asked because the trip was done by a CAA rep and not by us.

Chris.

We booked through the CAA rep as well! She did everything except our flight!

Hi ~ I had to show my CAA card once.....

....but another time, the CM didn't ask.

Just bring your expired card. S

If you've already booked and payed through CAA, Disney would have no reason to ask you for it. You obviously had a membership, cause CAA took your reservation and gave you the discount. :thumbsup2 I really wouldn't worry at all. If push came to shove, they could call CAA and confirm your eligibility, but I can't imagine it going that far. Have an amazing time!!!:yay:

If you're already paid in full, you won't have to show it.

I've always been asked to show it... but that's for booking room-only with the CAA rate, where the balance is due on check-in, and like a PP said, if you didn't have to show your card, anybody could just say they had CAA/AAA and get the special rate. Totally different from showing up for your already-paid-for, booked-through-CAA package.

I'd just take my expired card if I were you, and I'm pretty sure they won't ask to see it.

I agree that if it has been paid in full they will NOT ask for the card. There would be no reason.

My card doen't have an expiry date on it, just a 'card replacement' date. If your card is the same just take it with you. They don't call it in or anything like that. When they have asked for my card all they did was check the number with what they had on the computer screen....that was for a room only ressie.

Have a great trip.

In your original note you did not indicate that you had booked and paid, just that your membership had expired since you booked. My assumption was that you had booked with Disney and received the CAA discount.

We have been asked to produce the card in the past.
:confused3

I have only ever been asked when booking room only. When booked on a CAA package I have never been asked, and know that many others have not as well.

We have been asked each time we used it so be prepared to have to show the card.

I just returned from a trip that I booked and paid for directly through CAA...no questions at check in...the trip is already paid for - they cannot charge you more if you are not a CAA member at that point...you bought a package!.

You will not need to show it...so don't renew, bringt he expired oneif it gives you peace of mind.

Enjoy

I hope you haven't gone to renew yet. This is not well known, but CAA has a special membership for people just like you! If you have a new car that has roadside assistance, there is an A La Carte Membership that you can get from CAA that includes everything (discounts, maps, etc.) but roadside. It is $33.

I called the hotel and spoke to the front desk.
she said because we booked and paid in full through our CAA Travel Agent that I do not need to bring my card. It would have been the TA's responsibility to ask for it!

Take your old card if you have it. Mine does not have an expiry date on it, so how would they know.
