Pandora Only EMH

I was just double checking the hours for our AK day next Tuesday and see that where it was previously EMH from 10-12, it now says only Pandora will be open during that time. Couple of questions...

1) Anyone experience this yet? Is anyone actually leaving the parks, or is Pandora just pure chaos and filled with people?

2) I have a Rivers of Light FP for the 9:15 show, but there is still a 10:30 show scheduled. Seeing RoL is a priority for our day there, so we don't want to get rid of the FP. I'm wondering though if I should move to the 10:30 FP, which is still available, and try to hit the River Journey ride during the 9:15 RoL showing. Maybe more people will be seeing that show and there will be less people in Pandora? We will have already ridden FOP earlier in the day.

Thanks for any feedback!

1) Major discussions of it on this board for weeks, now. Since it's not "late," thousands attend.
2) RoL does not pull enough guests that it will significantly affect the lines at Pandora.

Thanks! Sorry, I'm not usually on this board very often, and I didn't see any titles that immediately jumped out at me about the subject.

No need to apologize, I was just pointing out that many guests had experienced these EMH events.

Pandora EMH are insanely packed bc it's the only late night place to go at any of the parks. You can go to it then, but you can't actually do anything that doesn't include waiting in line for hours. (Even to get a slushy was about an hour wait when we were there.) It was cool to walk around it at night though, but you're looking at 10 minutes for that.

If you don't mind waiting, the River Journey ride was about an hour wait during EMH when we were there. That's the lowest I've seen it at a time that wasn't rope drop.

Thanks for the info! We unfortunately won't be able to make rope drop since we will be flying into Disney that morning. If it's about an hour I'd probably be willing to wait. I would like to walk around and see Pandora at night, so we'll plan on doing that and not much else if it doesn't work out.

The river journey ride isn't worth standing in line for an hour.

Is it literally just a slow boat ride? That's what it appears to be from all I've read, and honestly I'm not a huge Avatar fan. I'd just like to see it sort of lit up at night.

Yes, that is all it is.

Yes, it's just a slow boat ride. It was pretty. It was a little neat. It'll be a walk on ride in no time. If you're curious and have nothing better to do since the only place open will be AK Pandora, you might as well wait. If you're weary and tired and want to go back to your room, you didn't miss too much:)

Thanks! Thinking maybe I'll keep the 9:30 ROL FP and see if maybe we can run over to get on EE again real quick before it goes down for the night afterwards. Then we can peruse Pandora until we're ready to leave. I appreciate the help!

Yes - it's "just" a boat ride - but a very pretty one and it fits in very nicely with the beautifully lit up Pandora at night ! :lovestruc

I've visited Pandora right after it opened - between May 29th and June 10th I've "closed" this magical land almost every night - usually after hopping into the line for FOP a few minutes before closing -
enjoying an almost empty Pandora afterwards and while limping out of there :crutches:on my "Disney-feet" I made lots of new "friends" (= CMs eager to get finally home) :drive: ...
No - seriously - they were very nice and polite :thanks: - and understanding of my slow pace :worship: - and all of them very excited about the new land themselves ...

Back then EMH run from 11-1 - but the midnight hour was sort of golden - if you got in line for RJ at 12:45 it was almost a walk-on and you could do it a second time right after - which I enjoyed tremendously
and highly recommend :flower:!
(Or doing the awesome FOP again :flower1: - best ride in town :butterfly- somebody described it as "flying in heaven" - and rightfully so !)

If EMH being now one hour earlier has changed crowds drastically for the worse - somebody please weigh in on this :hyper2: - I apologize in advance - but I would recommend trying it - maybe after the 10:30 ROL ...

Have a very magical time in Pandora pixiedust: - oh, how I wish I could be joining you !

We went for EMH at AK in June, and yes, it really is only Pandora that's open. And it was crowded. On the day we left AK at closing and didn't stay for EMH, there were huge crowds of people entering the park and heading toward Pandora at 9:00.

I don't think that enough people will be at the earlier ROL show to make the crowd look any smaller in Pandora.

I just got back from a 10 day trip, and I guess we lucked into the 1st night with a 55 minute FOP wait after a 20min Boat ride. It was nice experience.

But it seemed every night after then had FOP waits in the 90-120+ range.
That 55 minute FOP line was the longest line I've ever done. (Great ride, nice queue, but I have never thought any queue is worth 30+ minutesof my time)
If waits were in the 30 min range, I'd do EMH again

We did the Pandora EMH about a week and a half ago. We had already done FoP with a FP earlier in the week, so we did not wait in the advertised 90 minute queue for that one. A couple in our party got in line for snacks, and that line was pretty long compared to during the day (waited 2 minutes during the day, and they waited about 15 minutes in the evening).

River Journey was listed as a 30 minute wait, so we decided to get in line so we could say we saw it once. We didn't wait more than 15 minutes, so we were very happy about that.

I was there in May three days after Pandora officially opened. But during the late EMH that day, Pandora was open, but Expedition Everest and DINOSAUR were kept open late too. Positive side to that is that EE and DINOSAUR were literally walk-ons since everyone was in Pandora.

We were there on July 15th. There were EMH from 8:00-9:00 am. We were able to do boh rides with no Fastpasses by 8:30. I couldn't imagine waiting 3+ hours for the rides. In all honesty, Pandora was beautiful but very small. Other than FOP, the rest was just OK.

The best part was the rest of the park had minimal lines (less than 15 minutes) the remainder of the day while the two Pandora rides had long waits all day. We did all rides and shows (Except Nemo) by 1:00.

When you hopped into the FOP line a few minutes before closing time, how long did you usually wait for the ride? Did you do that during regular park hours or during evening magic hours?

What time did you get to AK for EMH?
We got to the park @ 7:15. It took 10 minutes to get through security because we had a bag. A little after 7:30 we scanned the Magic Bands to enter, but the line was stopped again at the bridge to enter the park. They allowed the guests to go across the bridge shortly before 8:00. We walked right on to FOP. By the time we got off there was a wait, but I forget how long. We got off and walked directly to the boat ride. It stayed without a wait for a while.
