Pandora and fast passes

For anyone only doing 1 day at AK on a trip and wanting to do both new Pandora rides, I strongly suggest FP'ing River Journey over Flight of Passage. River Journey doesn't have a height requirement so more families will be heading here if they have small ones. Flight of Passage seems like the more thrilling ride but with a height requirement of 44 inches, families with any kids under 3'6 will likely avoid this ride (unless they provide child swap).

So while both rides will have longggg waits, I can see River Journey having slightly longer ones
Great advice, CAS!

Flight of Passage has 4 theaters so more guests will be loaded in - a little faster moving line than River Journey.

Great point! I'm thinking FP RJ and trying for a rope drop run to FoP. Get them out of the way first thing and move on to the others as able.

They will say, "Animal Kingdom is not moving to a tiered fast pass system. However, you will not be able to select both of the Pandora rides in your initial set of 3 fast passes."
I've suggested a similar concept in another thread, and referred to it as "soft tiering". In my version, all three of the big new attractions went into tier 1, *but* with the variation that one could choose *two* of them instead of just one.

In this way, the effect of tiering is "pick what you want, just don't pick all three of the new ones".

At first, one of my big factors in Pandora will be to see the difference between the FastPass and standby queues.

I was able to get fast passes for ROL May 26, 27 and 28th.
It only showed the regular options, no options for the new rides :-(
I will keep checking everyday till the opening date ...

Thanks for the update. I had been wondering if someone with the 60+10 would be able to get Pandora FPs soon. Looks like we may have to wait until 30 days out to get FPs. Bummer.

Thanks for sharing. I am able to start booking my fast pass + for May 27 - 28 in a few days. Sounds like there is no point waking up super early to do this since the new rides aren't available anyway and I already got a dining package for ROL.

We actually have 8 people going and 4 have a dinning package for the 27th already and do not need fast passes for ROL ...
I just logged in to see if they could book fast passes for May 27.
Yes they could book but what is interesting and what was not there this morning was that I could only pick one of this experience ... ROL being the only thing listed.
Perhaps they are loading the tiers ????

Edit ...
Now that page is gone and it does not say I can only pick one experience ...
It just appears like this morning with all the options including ROL
