This is a little strange, maybe, but I'm really craving a big pancake breakfast when we go to HHI. Where would you recommend for that? Is there a Pancake-type resturant on the island? Or what about Hilton Head Diner-do they serve big pancake breakfasts (can you tell I'll be celebrating the end of my diet?)?

I had pancakes at Cracker Barrel my last visit. (I also cooked some in the room and they were good too.) I would recommend Cracker Barrel over the Hilton Head Diner.

I also would recommend Cracker Barrel over Hilton Head Diner for pancakes. Its been 3 years since we ate at the Diner but I was not impressed.

If you follow the road that goes behind the mall and the strip mall it will dead end into Cracker Barrel. That way you can stay off the main road.

My husband loves the pancakes with peaches and whipped cream at Cracker Barrell. Had them last June and will have them again this June :)

We ate at the HH Diner in October for breakfast on our last morning there. We biked over and breakfast was okay - but I thought the restaurant could have been cleaner. The chairs, tables, menus, etc... all felt greasy. If that kind of thing doesn't bother you - the Hilton Head Diner would be fine - but Cracker Barrel would be great too!

Thanks everyone! Sounds like Cracker Barrel it is! I think someone said that Cracker Barrel is in the same plaza as Piggly Wiggly. Sounds like a nice little morning bike ride away, build up my appetite for those yummy sounding peach pancakes!

Someone else will correct me if i am wrong, but I am pretty sure that Cracker Barrel is not in the shopping center with Piggly Wiggly. That shopping center is right by the resort - back roads to get to it from Disney, instead of getting on main highway. There is also Fuddruckers in that center. Cracker Barrell is on highway 278 a good while *before* you arrive at the Disney Resort. It's on the right. And yes, the pancakes there are the best!

The back roads that you take past the mall and Piggly Wiggly lead directly to Cracker Barrel. It isn't a bad bike ride at all. Our family of five ride it at least once for breakfast.
