Panama Planning

Well it could be something like that, but, the fact the sun may not even shine the last two days, and the wind chill out on the ocean may make it feel like low 60's or even high 50's. This is the normal weather pattern for that time of year over here. I will put in a little silver lining, sometimes it is not always like that and the weather will be a little warmer.

This is where I say - "Thank you" but I am still :cloud9: ing......

And also, this is why I am bringing my nice warm dive jacket that comes down to my knees....

Nope..we don't. This side of the pond, a jumper is a slang term for a person, that umm..tries to "off" themselves by jumping off a building, a bridge, or a umm..cruise ship!!

As far as clothing, a jumper was for girls, a sort of dress. It was one that was worn over a blouse.

And here we think we all speak the same language.

:lmao: A sweater. Don't you use that word over there? One of those language differences.

HMMMM> that is worrisome!

Pick up some sea bands. I am told they work wonders!! At leaset from the people on my Dec crusie that were seasick. Also, green apples!!

DH took bonine. I plan on picking up some seabands for him in August. Better save than sorry.

Karen(Been2marceline) who was going to be cruising with us but sadly had to cancel has asked me to post info about ordering wine.

If you would like to order wine from her online business to be delivered to your pre cruise hotel, and I hope you do, you need to order by this Thursday to reach Florida by the 9th May.

Her website is Winemiles.com.

She is sending our Champagne too.

Yes when I posted the Pacific is 'more active' I ment the seas do have more power, more movement and you will notice the difference after the Panama canal and even more after Acapulco.

Our family is planning a DCL excursion in Acapulco due to the short time in port. We are undecided between a Beach Day (in such a short time period) or the City Tour and Cliff Divers. We have 4 kids ages 2-10. Has anyone done the City Tour/Cliff Divers on the Last Panama Canal Transit? Would it be entertaining to Children? How did the excursion rate? 21/2 hours on a Beach sounds too short, especially at the DCl excursion rate for 6 people. It might be a better choice for kids though. How are Acapulco's beaches?
What does everyone plan on doing this day? Anyone going to do Acapulco on their own? I am tempted, but the short time in port makes me nervous. I would love everyone's input especially if you've been there done that. Thanks!

Yes port time is very small this time and also not the best time to be on a beach, from Breakfast to mid day, with cool sea water.

The city tour and Cliff divers is ok, an option, the time in port reduces the options.

Firstly if you haven't booked any Dolphin trips, I recommend Cici water park for Dolphins, it will go fast, but it is very good indeed, I did it last time.

Secondly, you can do some things yourself, it will be cheaper, The fort is directly opposite where the Magic docks and is connected by a footbridge, that would be interesting for the kids and is part of some DCL tours. You cannot miss it, only issue opening time. Presume 9am, maybe 8am.

The Market is about two blocks back from the port again very easy to walk to, and interesting to buy things, They have so called tourist guides there, they hassle you and try to take you to Friends shops etc. They are harmless but annoying. A VERY FIRM NO is required.

The distances for cliff divers is very little, if it wasn't for the time of day I would say do it yourself by taxi. But again the early arrival is an issue.

I thought about the Dolphins here at CiCi but my husband is against it. We did the Dolphins in Cozumel in 2007 and he thinks that is enough. The reason I want to do the Dolphins again, is because our daughter, now 8 years old was too young to do the Swim in Cozumel and was only able to do the Encounter. My oldest son and I did the swim, and my Husband and daughter did the Encounter. I thought it would be Great if my Daughter and Husband could experience the swim. It was AMAZING!! Also, my now 5 year old son is old enough to do the swim here if he chooses. He REFUSED to do the Dolphin encounter at Cozumel. He thought the Dolphins "would kill him" and he could not be persuaded otherwise, so he missed out entirely. Would you do the Dolphins here on your own or through DCL? Is there anything else to do there, or do they board you back on the bus immediately?
Your thoughts on a beach day were mine as well. Besides it being such a short time to enjoy the beach, it is quite early in the day to be going. I did not realize the sea would be cool though. This is another thing to think about.
Are the Cliff Divers a Do not miss activity? I am at a loss on what to do here. :confused3
Thank you for your input. Maybe I can convince the hubbie to give the Dolphins another try!

Well, hopefully it will be ok, I think you should prepare for the worst and know the Pacific can be more active, so have contingency, but know one knows what the sea will be like at that particular time.

Just know its not the Caribbean and glassy like.

I have done the Dolphins in Cozumel myself as well, one of the reasons I recommend Cici above all others, is its in seawater 'pool's in a water park, not the open sea, so far better, less of a worry to kids and more inter action.

Cliff divers, its connected with Acapulco, people consider it the ''must do'', I did it with Princess cruises once, and that was enough for me, I prefer the Fort or Cici. Its interesting, and dangerous, but once you have seen one diver for me personally thats it, and I personally prefer to do other things.

I understand Cici is fully booked by DCL , on the day the Magic is in port.

Do you know if live football Manchester final will show on Disney cruise at Diversion?

My husband said he remember that golf uk show on tv but I told him that we were in Europe.

I think we will be in Mexico while the football final. I know my husband loves football.

Do you know if there will be show on sky on disney cruise?

It probably daft question.

Got to say I havent a clue,, I do not know how much USA follows our football, and if it clashes with some big sport event over there, itsp ossible, I would ask Diversions as you arrive on ship if you can see it.

Dont you want Chelsea???

That is good to know, Thank You. I am leaning towards spending our time here. I think the kids will enjoy themselves most doing this.

I personally like Cici and of Cozumel, Costa Maya and Cici, Cici was by far the best, the water park doesnt look much but the Dolphins are good and its easy for kids to swim, in big pools not the sea,
