Panama Planning

I'm so worried about the packing. We have bought a garment bag for this trip too, but I seem to have huge piles of clothes out and where they are going to go I do not know!! I had thought with this being a summer vacation that I could cut down on long trousers and cardis, but I seem to have more.:confused3

Dreading Saturday(in an excited kind of way of course!;) )

The thought of packing is driving me crazy! Although, I'm excited to get it done, and finally start this cruise....I'm trying to keep us all to one suitcase each to avoid paying the fee of $25, not sure that is going to be possible with a 15 day cruise.

I think the extra $25 or $50 is probably worth it to avoid the stress. In fact, I would bring an extra suitcase inside another one for room to bring stuff home. I realize that no one wants to waste money, but IMHO the stress is not worth it.

I am imagining myself at UPS shipping stuff home because I bought too much and thinking...UGH that $50 would have been worth it. For the record, I speak from experience...

The bag inside a bag is what I always do to bring back all the gifts from WDW and DCL

I am so stressed over the thought of packing..:scared1: and the lists I have to make.. :headache: and things to do in the house before we leave:sick:

To bad I can't skip forward to boarding the cruise and have it all done.. :rotfl:

I can bring 6 bags (checked)..not to mention 3 carry on's and I am still stressing over how to pack and what I will need..

I love this kind of stress... :cloud9:

I agree, if we have to be stressing at least it is over cruising!

It would be nice to have a 'personal packer' like a personal shopper who can pack all your bags for your cruise for you, ( and do the washing after):lmao:

If we are starting a wish list.. I would like someone to pack, shop, clean the house and keep on eye on the 18 yr old while I am gone... I could use someone driving me to and from the airport... :goodvibes

If I can think of anything else I will be sure and add it on.. :rotfl2:

We put 1/3 of our clothes back in the closet - after all, we expect to buy a T shirt or two on the cruise.....

I am having second thoughts about bringing a sweater (oops - cardie)....

That is a bonus! Send the kids away so you can pack! I may just do the same! You must be so darn excited!

I laughed at very hard at the post about preparing the "pharmacy". We do the same. I always overpack "emergency" items and medicines. I can't even imagine what my crazy brain will make me take on a 15 night adventure, plus add our week long pre cruise trip. I will probably have a whole suitcase of pharmacy items! Good thing there are 7 of us which means we get 14 suitcases allowed! WHEW!

We have the "emergency" kit yet to do....Opened the medicine chest and out fell Zicam (cold) - gosh, better take that I thought -- what else?

:rolleyes1 OHHH Andrew? Are you volunteering to pack for me? :rotfl2:

Just found this thread - but guess late is better than nothing huh?

I am seriously considering packing an empty suitcase inside another and then just packing the shoes and undies  and picking things up along the way. I go way overboard on souvenirs so I may pack one jean, 2 shorts and 5 tops - oh yeah - forgot about the formal - the rest can be bought along the way or discarded as may be the case.

Well Laura, :worship: I know you really like me, :hippie: and I like you, :lovestruc but........CL is a bit of a way for me to go to pack your bags, :cloud9: and might cost me an arm, leg, and another body part :scared: on British Airways.:scared1:

But there is a simple rule to packing...

  • 1/ Get bags on floor.
  • 2/ Get clothes out of wardrobes
  • 3/ Throw them all up in the air, go ''whoopie'' and they will fall inside the cases.:cloud9:

Well with some, faith, hope and pixie dust....:rotfl2:

:lmao: I used the term cardi because a couple are to go with the formal outfits. Then I like one for the flights. Then I ask myself - what about this colour outfit, or that, and lay out yet another colour!!!:lmao: :lmao:

None of them are actually sweater's or sweatshirts either.

May I suggest that do do bring something to keep you warm. As a native of L.A. I can tell you about this thing we have called May Gray/June Gloom. As we come up the cost of Baja, it may and can get cold out on the water and the sun may never come out. In 05' I can tell you as we were coming up the Baja coast it was very wind, cold, and the sun never came out on that last day.

Even in August, our 2005, cruise was cold the first two days/nights out of LA, it isnt like the Carribean.

If you are worried about weight - throw in an extra duffle, that will take clothes for the return trip.
