Panama Canal Weight Loss/Weight Maintenance Motivation Group

No I don't. They do offer a bunch of herbal supplements, some which I do take. The plan really basis itself off of what they call HNS, High Nutrient Supplements, which are high protien drinks/ supplements. Each has around 15 grams of protien. I take 4 a day, one with breakfast and lunch and 2 more. They actually taste awesome and really help with the cravings.

I was right about the weight loss, I weighed in and was down another 3 pounds for a total of 15 in 6 weeks. Only 45 more to go!

Very interesting, I think we have a thing like that in the uk called lighter life, folk seem to do very well, but for first so many weeks its protein shakes, I really thought about it to shift this 14lbs I need to loose fast but I just CANNOT drink shakes, I cant drink milk or even milk shakes, makes me heave, Mum said I was always sick as a baby and makes me wonder if thats why I cant take stuff like that, anyway, thanks for sharing and go go go.

The shakes aren't milk shakes. More like fruit punch type drinks. If you want I can send you a couple.

Thanks,you are very kind, but I think it the texture rather than the milk, I dont like smoothies either.
Have you been buying clothes in smalles sizes or are you waiting to have a spending spree when you get right down?

Yay!!! Too bad you're even getting a little twinge but at least you can get back at it! I'm going to give running a shot on Monday. I have only had minimal pain now for about a week and half but the doc (DH made me go) said I had tendonitis and I should wait 2-3 weeks from that day. Monday will be 2 weeks. I'm going to start slow, perhaps just one mile at a time. I'll see how I feel and take it from there. Let my body tell me :goodvibes

I've been doing the elliptical and bike (was told that was okay) so at least I've been able to get back in the swing of things. My soreness is just about gone and we're going to head to the gym here a bit!

Good luck for monday, let us know how you get on. I am on the ellitical trainer a lot, I think I call it the cross trainer. My wobble board(per physio) came today so I will be trying that when I get home on monday.

I ran 5 miles on monday, 3 today and my leg is great, I think thats what makes the differance to my wt loss, the comp on the running machine said I used 820 cals mon and 580 today, It depends on the gradient, I had it up to 4 today, Im so happy i can run again:banana:

Monday, I ran about 2.75 miles and felt pretty good. Today, I ran 4.1 miles (3.1 and then 1 about an hour later) and I feel okay, but I need to build my conditioning back up. My pace is slower and I'm getting more tired quicker. But I will build back up! I'm not going to let it stop me! Best thing, my ankle is not giving me hardly any problems. It does nag me a bit, but not pain, more like a little discomfort.

I felt like I was doing so good and then didn't do much exercising for 3 weeks and ate ice cream (and other bad stuff) like it was going out of style and it undid much of the good I did! But I'm trying to be good again. Since last Monday, I've only skipped one day of working out and I've cut out the ice cream and sweets. But weight, didn't budge this week :headache: Hopefully next week.

It takes months to get fit and days to loose it:sad2:

I was only planning to do a few miles on monday but mr hot himself federa was playing tennis so I had some eye candy to keep me on the machine and running:laughing:

Good going on the run Lynn!

I feel like I'm doing great with the exercising- I'm doing about 2 hours a day. However, I'm having a rough time with my diet. Just when I think I'm doing good, I have weak moments. Yesterday, while lounging in my neighbor's pool, her husband brought us each a pina colada. I thought, ok, just one. Well, it was hot outside, the drink was so yummy and he offered me another one. Drank it! Little later I had anohter. It was 3 over about 4 hours and I know it was too much sugar. Then, we go in, and he makes us nachos!!!! She's always joking about needing a "cabana boy" to make her drinks by the pool and I'm thinking she's already got one in her husband!!!!

Then, next weekend is the Fourth of July weekend. Big cookouts and parties around here! I guess I'll have to be really good all week so I can enjoy next weekend.
 
Ran 9 miles so far this week have a walk scheduled for today and a run for tomorrow. The grand total for the last 6 weeks is half a pound and zero inches. :confused3 I really am hoping I am a reverse bear. It is very hot here and will be until probably October.

Great job on the running. Sorry to hear about your lack of weight loss. I know how frustrating that is :hug: As far as the heat, yup, it's that way here too. Not as bad as it could be, I think our temps are actually lower than average (rain is cooling it off and we're getting a bunch of it thanks to Alex) but it's very humid - 97% right now. I walk outside and can feel the thick air covering me and it can make breathing difficult if doing anything strenuous outside.

I like the reverse bear theory! Maybe that's the problem with me. I've been busting my behind everyday 1.5-2 hours at the gym 6 days a week and I've lost 1 pound in the last 3 weeks. Still puts me up 4 pounds from my low about 6-8 weeks ago as I gained 5 pounds during a 3 week exercise hiatus! Clothes though are still fitting good. Overall, I'm happy with my success but would still like some improvement on my tummy and thighs. I'm going to keep working out and hopefully the scale will start moving to the left!!

Congrats Linda! I'm actually down 30 pounds since the beginning of May. 20 on a diet and 10 second to the braces.

Great job ladies!!!! I have no loss to report but no gain either. I think it's a mix of lack luster exercise and not watching everything I eat. I haven't been terrible and that is why I don't think I've gained but if I want to start seeing results again, I have to better disciplined. But I got up and exercised at 5:30 this morning. I'm going to try my hardest to keep at it!!!!

Sorry to hear about that. I guess I missed it that you would not be joining us. Here's hoping employment is in the near future :)

I do plan to do a trip report and take lots of food pictures. A couple of months ago, while telling my sis about the Dec cruise, I told her about taking pictures of food. She said "You take pictures of food????" with a puzzled look on her face. After showing her the pics, she completely understood and tried to make it sound like she misunderstood me and thought i took pictures of just everyday food everyday - "Oh, didn't know you meant cruise food!" Well, it was in the same conversation as the cruise. She just thought I was a complete wacko at first!

Well, today was day 2 for my 5:30am workouts. It's nice to be home and still have the whole day without worrying about fitting my workout in. Hope everyone has a good Thursday!!!

"NO GAIN" is also a positive! You're "the gal" for getting up and exercising at 5:30 am! I get UP at 5:30 no problem, but I need a certain amount of caffine and kick start before I can get to the gym.:lmao:

I think you have lots of discipline if you can get up at 5:30 a.m. to exercise. That is awesome. I have trouble stuggling out of bed at 7:00.:cheer2:

I'm sorry to hear that you won't be on the cruise with us. We will miss you. Hope things turn around for you real soon.
 
Like all the rest of you, this has been a crazy, busy summer! We love living at the beach, but sometimes the number of company can be overwhelming. We have had family and friends at our house every week since Memorial Day. This week was our first week with no one but us and just got a call this morning that we will have houseguests starting today through tuesday.

I looked for this thread the other day and couldn't find it, so happy to see it reappear yesterday. My exercise routine is way off because of all the company, but I have been able to maintain my weight, which was what I was hoping this board would help me do. As soon as summer is over, I am going to concentrate on the last 10 pounds to reach my goal.

Thanks to everyone for posting their ups and downs, lets me know I'm not the only one who struggles.
