Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

I just got my Purex 3 in 1 today! Those are the best to travel with if you like to bring your own - they also have detergent for sale.

I got mine on Amazon. They will be a part of my FE pack - I thought with a 14 nighter even if you don't do laundry they work great for keeping things smelling fresh!

Awesome! Congratulations! Is this your first grandchild? Steve and I have one of each from two of our three sons. They're called GRAND for a reason!:cool1:

No cash necessary as you will use your KTTW card. I'm sure on a cruise this length I will probably do a couple of loads myself.

Hoping all goes well and keep us updated.

Aren't they great? We have 6 grand kids this will be number 7. We are so very excited. This is our youngest daughter's first.

What great anticipation that must be as you await the birth of your grandson! Congratulations to your daughter and husband as parents to be and to you both as grandparents to be!

I am going to tag onto your laundry question. Does anyone know if the ship also does dry cleaning?

Thank you. Great question.

Yes, they have dry cleaning and laundry service. :laundy: Bag with prices in closet, stateroom attendant picks up with morning cleaning.

Yes. In fact Mommaluvsdis and I don't worry about pressing or dry cleaning before we leave and send everything that needs it out the first day. Makes packing so much easier and everything is fresh when you need it. Their prices are very compare able to dry cleaners on land, too.

pahrumpgirl, Great idea! Really frustrating that you spend money on dry cleaning prior to boarding, but you can't tell from how your clothes look once unpacked!

MPS516, Thanks for the logistics of how DCL works. We've only cruise RCCL and the process sounds about the same.

Thank you both for the dry cleaning info. My friend who is cruising with me said she was planning on packing like she does on a 7 day cruise. That sounded pretty logical to me. When we did a B2B with RCCL, I tried to pack shirts I could hand wash and line dry. Worked well and then sent out some capris and pants to dry clean. RCCL does not have washers and dryers on board. Not sure I really want to spend a ton of time washing clothes on a cruise anyway. ;)

Wanted to share this with you guys, since I am sure it will be of interest to those of you debating your Palo night...

FYI, I have heard that the Mexicali Menu from night 7 has been replaced with a Taste of the Caribbean menu. I have ALL of the menus if anyone is wanting to see them. Feel free to send me a PM if there are any you want.

Also, planning our DCL trips is like crack to me....can't get enough and I like to be super organized about it. I have a mad-crazy chart that I made, showing each day's port, show, menu, dress code, and navigator highlights. If anyone else would benefit from that, I'd be happy to share.

Just remember to keep clothes for dinner that night and the next day as it may be as late as 5 pm on day two that you get your pressed clothes back. Also spread all of your clothes out on the bed and take a picture. That way if you don't get a piece back you can show your attendant what you're missing.

So far what is the numbers for the FE & the Recipe exchanges?

For the FE- how does it work? Everyone in a cabin is gifted? How many days do I make gifts for?

Good to hear! We're really looking forward to it. Do you remember what a taxi cost you, by any chance?

It was not much - I'm thinking around $15 - but I'm not sure. At the time kids were free as well. It was a cheap fun thing to do - he was talking about adding hard candy as well soon.
