Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

Ahh yes Australia is such a small Country..... You are just around the corner! Haha. My soon to be 17 year old works at an Army Base Hospital, in the operating theatre, he is looking forward to his time off. We work 7 days a week in Real Estate so looking forward to time off too!
Have you been on the Wonder before? We have always been on the Magic. Well, not long now and we will be on deck 9 and 10 with a Bon Voyage for the cruise away party.

We have only been on the Magic last year for some strange reason we didn't think cruising would be for us the kids loved it DH watched a show on the extension of the Panama Canal and agreed to go :cool1:
Wow Army base in an operating theatre that is a full on job he must enjoy it.

Hey there everyone! We can't wait for Sept 14th to arrive, I think we have completed 11cruises on the Magic, including 2 Panama cruises. This will be our first time on the wonder. We are coming from The gold Coast in Queensland Australia. Hubby and I will both be 44 when we cruise and we have to sons aged 15 and 17. We are heading to Disney World for 10 days after the cruise, then to Chicago then driving to Toronto Canada for a week, all up we are away for 6 weeks...... Can't wait! So where is everyone else coming from.

Welcome Aboard Michelle, :wave2:
3rd time PC, we must have picked the right itinerary :woohoo:

We love the Wonder, for some reason we like Route 66 better than Beat Street, :confused3 don't know why, they are about the same. Looks like you are in for a great holiday.

This will be our third Panama Cruise! We really enjoyed each and everyone we have done. We also love our USA road trips. The last trip we had another Aussie Family with us and hired a 15 seater van, we also introduced the Family to the Disney Cruise and Disney World, they are now addicted also. The last trip we did with them was our 3rd trip together. My Son has been counting down the days....... Ok ok , so have I .

I don't know if I could be away from home for weeks at a time, but those trips sound great. I am usually ready to come home after close to 3 weeks.

This will be our 2nd full PC cruise. We did a partial on Princess a number of years ago. Just wishing Disney made a stop in Costa Rica!

I can't remember if I signed up for the FE, but please add us.

When I get around to it, I will look up our cabin number and add that too. We have late dining. We live in Ohio.

Hubby and I work 7 days a week, we get up at 4 am Mon-Fri to drive our Son to work (400 Klms a day) then we work till late, our only time off is when we plan for our vacations, we love the longer cruises, can't wait to do a round the world one someday! We seem to find we try and pack so much into our vacations that by the time it is all over we think we need another one to recover! We have our family photos from our Disney Cruises up in the office, it motivates me to work harder and sell more(we are real estate agents). The count down is on........ Bring on our cruise!

Well Australia is certainly on our list of must do but we have to wait until we can be gone from work for 4 weeks at a time. First we are doing Tahiti, Society Islands and French Polynesia in 2015 because we can do that in 2 weeks. We have been to every state and US Territory except Vermont and North Carolina, all Canadian Provinces, about a dozen European Countries, Costa Rica, Guatemala and the Galapagos. So Australia and New Zealand is the logical upcoming.

We will be in 6536
Airfares booked and we are staying at the LA Airport Marriott the night before..
Now to look at what shore excursions to do - any suggestions - this time with no kids with us!
Ali

We've never taken a long trip like this before. We're empty-nesters, sort-of. Our son, with a BA in Math and BS in Computer Science, is living at home looking for his career job, while working part-time as a security guard. Not his choice, but what he could get.:confused3
We're in room 6631, by the way, for the FE. I don't think I told you that when I asked to join.

This will be our 2nd PC cruise as well. We went on the 2008 WB.

Dennie, where in Ohio? We live just outside Columbus in Newark.

Hi!:wave2:I'm wondering when the FE will be cut-off so we'll know how many are participating and other info. Do you post the list on here? I'm pretty excited and anxious to get going on the cruise with my :goofy: husband. (He once saved Goofy at Disneyland from some stomping kids and we got some great pictures in return.)

DH works 7 days a week too, including on vacation. We tend to return from vacation needing another one too! We love the longer cruises too. Around the world is going to have to wait for a long time for us though!

We did the EB in 2005.

We are in NE Ohio, Lorain County.

We're in Ohio too! In Cleveland. Denine, by any chance were you and your husband on the October Hawaii cruise? My group (me, my husband and my brother & sis-in-law) were on that cruise. While we were on the bus after the cruise going to the Disneyland resorts, we met a copy from Lorain County...just wondering if it's a small world and that was you. My husband was talking about the metroparks and all of us were talking about the fact that 30 minutes before we got off the ship there was an earthquake north of LA and there was a Tsunami warning in Hawaii. And of course all of us were talking about our various DCL cruises :wave2:

Where did you go to school in Columbus? I graduated from Whetstone in '65

I went to Whetstone from 69 to 71. We lived near Reed and Henderson, where Columbus abuts Upper Arlington. From there moved to Tenneessee and Christian Brothers College.
