Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

Welcome Back Anja, :wave2:

Missed you, thought you were too busy, but realize you took a cruise without us, that's just not right :thumbsup2 We are headed to WDW in exactly 5 weeks from today for a short break :hourglass Had to do it when we canceled our Christmas on the Fantasy booking because of a family schedule conflict :sad1: Did end up booking a southern with Royal so am a little nervous not having sailed with them before. :confused3

For Disney cruises departing in the US, will alcohol be allowed to be brought on board at embarkation? I have only ever boarded in Europe and am not sure of the differences in this area.

Yes, you can carry it on.

Royal is almost as great as Disney - I think Disney is better with the young school age children's areas, but Royal has great service. I also prefer Disney's broadway style shows. Royal is the most similar to Disney's quality.

I created a Facebook group for those of you that like to go on there. I have found them a great way to get to know people beyond the DIS boards - we were talking about this on our cruise last week - once the trip is over it is so much easier to keep up with people with the Facebook friends - you can also put events on there for cruise meets, etc. and upload photos and information. This will not replace the thread here at all - it is just another way to keep up with everyone and also may attract a few people on our cruise that do not know about the DIS.

The group is called Disney Panama Canal Cruise September 2013 and here is a link: http://www.facebook.com/groups/453266171392487/#!/groups/453266171392487/

I did make the group private, so you will need to request to join, but other members can add people in. Feel free to friend me, Renee Yousey Latta, as well.

I look forward to getting to know all of you better! I think the longer cruises are a wonderful way to make friends for a lifetime with the same love of Disney cruising! On our 11 night we even linked our dining together as a DIS group during second seating and were able to do more group events because of the more days at sea - I'm really looking forward to that on this cruise!

Will check it out when I get home. We had a FB link for our last cruise and we still have some activity on it and as you said I made a lot of friends from that cruise and have kept up with several from that group as FB friends.

We are going to do a quick 4 night on the Magic in February since it is in Texas and DD is counting the days for both cruises.

I was not able to find you on Facebook. You can join the group from the group page or just friend me and I can add you.

Thanks!

Sorry to all you Northeast Coasters, it has been snowing here all morning and it looks like we are sending it your way just in time for the hurricane :scared1: Makes us even more excited about our Thanksgiving jump down to WDW. :drive:

We have friends on the Dec EBPC so have been following their thread :surfweb: getting some pretty good tips. Hoping they post lots of trip reports during and after so we can pick up on all the really good items.

Even if winter does come early for us, we have a Southern Caribbean scheduled over New Years

have finally made it back here ... we were gone for two weeks (1 week WDW and then 1 week on the Fantasy where we sailed through a bit of Hurricane Sandy ... wheee!) and I've been playing catch up at work all week.

If there is a facecrack group for this cruise I'd love to join.

And if you really want a sense of what Jay and I are like to cruise with, feel free to check out the TR I just started from the 10/20 Fantasy: Rock the Boat, Don't Tip the Boat Over.

Hope everyone is doing well ... we are so pumped for this cruise next year!

Renee, I sent you a friend request and asked to join the FB group for this cruise. My name over there is Anja...probably the only requests you've gotten from an Anja.:beach:

Brenda, I'm reading your trip report. I think we will have fun on the Wonder!:thumbsup2

We will have a blast on the Wonder - so looking forward to two weeks on the ship with lots of good peoples! :goodvibes

On the Dec EBPC they have a group meeting in a different lounge each night for a nightcap, sounding like a pretty good idea :thumbsup2

We don't wear nightcaps. :rotfl2:

All joking aside this sounds like a great idea- we'd be up for it. :thumbsup2

I think I have been through O'Fallon many times. When I used to get to St. Louis we would go out to someplace called Dog Town to a bar with bocce ball and the best toasted ravioli anywhere. Then late when we should have been headed back to the hotel we would head to Blueberry Hill. Oh to be young again.

We are also booked on this cruise. It will be our second cruise, we sailed out of NY this summer on the Magic. Looking forward to many sea days. We are leaving the DS with Grandma, so adult only trip for us. We are from Michigan also, Grand Rapids area.

Kathy and Jeremy
