Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

Change of plans :upsidedow DD and I are doing a tour of Disney Studio and Archive at 9:30 on the 14th :cheer2: Figure if we leave there at 1pm should make it to port by 2:30 :drive: Should give us a 1 hr cushion :hourglass DW will go from hotel to ship at 11 and set us up.

If you're talking about your wife boarding the ship and you and your daughter coming later, I believe your entire party has to be together during check in. At least, I know it's that way in Port Canaveral.
 
The FE list I have has 25 cabins and 8 girls and 7 boys and 1 dog. Does anyone know if that has changed? I need to go ahead and order my FEs and I want to make sure I have enough of everything.

Was wondering the same thing.
 
As long as you kept the link I sent you for the file it is current. I think ( and this is totally from memory since I am not at home ) it is 26 cabins 1 dog and around 17 kids.

If you did not keep the link let me know. Since it is a google doc anytime I update it the link will show the latest entries.

Everyone remember our deadline for joining the FE is fast approaching and as these have stated they need to get everything in order so of you want to join please let me know.

OK, We did loose a cabin not too long ago and that is the number I was remembering. It is 25 cabins, 15 kids and 1 dog.

On the roll call I have the following listed:

Fish Extender Exchange Deadline to join August 1, 2013

Postcard/Recipe Exchange Postcard from your city, state or country with your favorite recipe (or a recipe significant to your area) Deadline to join August 14, 2013
Post on the board or PM twokats to join in the fun.

Since both of these have August deadlines, I thought I would show them both. With the FE being Aug 1 that gives everyone 6 weeks to get organized, I thought 1 month for the recipe would be adequate.

I will try to make any changes known on the board s that you can look at the link if we have any additions between now and the end of the month!!!

It is 54 days until we leave for CA. My DD is super excited!
 
I'm new to the group (and to Disney cruises), but I'd be interested in the transportation to Hobby. I'm traveling solo, with a flight that leaves at ~3.:30 pm.

I had originally planned a trip to Egypt this year, but I just don't have the energy to deal with all the upheavals caused by the revolution, so I'm going to cruise through the Canal on a Disney verandah instead!

FYI, I have heard that the Mexicali Menu from night 7 has been replaced with a Taste of the Caribbean menu. I have ALL of the menus if anyone is wanting to see them. Feel free to send me a PM if there are any you want.

Also, planning our DCL trips is like crack to me....can't get enough and I like to be super organized about it. I have a mad-crazy chart that I made, showing each day's port, show, menu, dress code, and navigator highlights. If anyone else would benefit from that, I'd be happy to share.

I would love to see how you do it if you would not mind sending it to me by pm. I like to be organized, but I seem to be better at WDW than I am on the cruises!!! Go figure.



OK, I didn't think I had gone crazy. There was an addition that I had on my notes, but not on the list, but that has now been fixed.

I was worried about that given we have traveled out of Port Canaveral so many times but remembered in Barcelona some of the parties showed up at different times. I had contacted DCL when we were offered the studio tour and told "Guests do not have to check-in together", they offered to forward the reply in writing. DW has it and will offer it if she has trouble boarding.
 
Is anyone else renting a car from AVIS on the LA side? I'm thinking that might be another taxi share situation if anyone wants to join us - have the driver drop off family and luggage at the pier and then meet at AVIS. Let me know if you are - we did the early boarding time!

Yes, it is on the DCL website. They will have a streamer and decorations and a big Happy Birthday magnet waiting when you get to your room. Pretty cool. I am thinking about doing it for my mom, as I am taking her on this cruise to celebrate her 80th birthday. The only thing is, if it is possible, don't bother to get the cake. We never finished it with all the other food on board.

Is anyone planning to do any of the liquor tastings? I would like to do a champagne tasting, the wine and chocolate tasting, and a tequila tasting. But I don' think my mom will want to do those with me, and I was wondering if anyone was doing them as a group?

Dog should be easy. I'm not on FE but I bought him something when I was in Lancaster Pa earlier this week.
