Has anyone flown Pan Am from Hartford recently? Or any of their other locations?

Pan Am

Went and resufaced based out of Pease Airport (Formaly Pease AirForce base)
They are still active but be careful they are in the midst of a name change because of union dispute or bad negotiations with the pilot union that covers their pilots. They are trying to change to Boston & Maine airways. I live 10 minutes from Pease and am optioning to drive the hour plus past Pease to Boston

Try googling aviation news and then search for Pan Am and see what you get. That was how I decided if I wanted to fly Delta now with the threatening of Bankruptcy.

Good Luck

Dave

Yes, Boston & Maine Airways bought the rights to use the old PanAm name, but the name is all they have in common with the great old carrier. They are a very small carrier serving Portsmouth NH (out of Pease), Bedford Mass (Hanscom AFB), Hartford CT, one New Jersey city (I think Trenton?) and a bunch of warm weather locations (Orlando, Ft Lauderdale and some Caribbean islands). They have a very limited fleet and limited schedule, and I hear they are prone to cancelling flights when the flights are not well populated or when there are equipment problems. Also note, that when they say Orlando, they are flying into Sanford, a bit further North than MCO and farther from WDW.

The new PanAm might be worth a try, especially if you are looking in the Very near future (6 weeks at most); I don't think I'd buy too far in advance with them for fear of the airline disappearing.

Good luck!

I'm looking at cruising out of FLL in April 05. Was looking at Spirit out of PVD, but their prices just jumped almost $200 overnight. The one Pan Am flight a day out of BDL makes me nervous of them cancelling and we missing the boat.

Thanks for the opinions.

Maybe waiting for SouthWest's April fares is the way to go then (I expect them in early March maybe?).

Then again, maybe match a nice Song flight on the way down with a cheap PanAm return on the way back, so if they disappear then, at least you're in Florida ;)
