I am livid. Just got a call telling me that my flight has been cancelled. Less than two weeks given for me to find a new one. Not all routes are cancelled, but ours was. They will refund me but now I have to find a new way to get to Florida, rebook my rental car, etc. Nothing like a little stress! :badpc:

Sorry to hear that! :(

We flew them twice. We found that flying out of Machester on Southwest saved us money and from having to endure Pan Am's endless B.S.

Maybe you can find something on Saouthwest?

Ted

Song and Jetblue had very good flights for that timeframe out of Logan. Not as easy to get in and out of than Manchester, but you get assigned seats and TVs.

Good luck, we'll be down there the same time (vaca week in NH).

We tried SW, but at this late date, not much is available - if at all. We tried SW going to Tampa, Jacksonville, Ft Lauderdale, etc. No luck - too expensive as well. I ended up finding a flight with Jet Blue but now we'll be going on the bus to Boston bright and early in the morning (don't want to pay to self park at Logan) It's actually working out OK. We were originally going to Sanford on Pan Am. That was cancelled. Rebooked to fly to Ft Lauderdale - great fare, lousy "commute." That got cancelled. Never again. We're coming out about $100 more going out of Boston, but that's not bad considering it is only two weeks out and we're going in to Orlando. Hopefully there aren't many others impacted by this - it just plain, well you know

.

The silver lining to this, is that I think you will ADORE flying Jetblue. It's a great experience, all the people are great, nice and friendly. They have really cool snacks (Terra Blue Potato chips which my DS loved).

Oh yeah, and individual seat back TVs to watch.

I'm glad you were able to find something this close to your departure

I thought PanAm went out of business after a crash in the 80s. :confused3

They came back as part of Boston/Maine Airways. Currently they are having a union dispute and they are trying to get rid of the union and reorganize under Boston/Maine Airways instead of Pan Am. It is in the courts now and it doesn't look good for them - the poor woman issuing my refund was none too happy about the announcement and said she has no idea what is going to happen. Now that we aren't driving to Florida, I am really looking forward to Jet Blue. DH will love the extra leg room (as compared to SW) and DD and I will have fun with the TVs.

I didn't even think Pan Am was still in business out of Portsmouth!. In November, I learned from these boards that they were having union/legal difficulties and had canceled many flights to Sanford. Ours was one of them. Like you, we only had a few weeks to find new flights. We lucked out with Southwest. Ended up getting better rates and had very good customer service but did have to drive further and really missed those roomy and comfortable Pan Am seats. That free parking in Portsmouth was also a very nice benefit. Hoping things soon fall in place for you...and that you get your Pan Am refund quicker than I got mine!!! I really feel for you...I've been there!

I wouldn't even have bothered booking a flight with them, by the looks of their website, they seem kind of like a "fly by night" shady airline. I've heard a lot of good things about jetblue, have fun on your trip! :earboy2:

I've recently read an article that JetBlue is once again considering opening up in Manchester (they talked of it a few years ago, but chose to go to Boston). I truly hope they do. It will give us New Englanders another option and some healthy competition!!
