We got a good deal on a flight out of Allentown Pa to Sanford Airport on Pan Am.
Anyone have experience with this Airport and the newly incarnated Pan Am?

all I know about them is that they had to pull out of pittsburgh due to lack of people flying them. if they have a cancelled flight you are SOL they have no airline agreements with anyone still. But a lot of people that did fly them liked the sanford airport. I aksed a bunch of them. they said it was less congested than MCO and easier to get around.

We were at Sanford May 2001 and there was a lot of construction going on but it is a small facility and it was easy to get around. I don't know if they are done yet. There seemed to be a lot of foreign travelers coming in. It is about a one hour drive from Sanford to WDW. We would use it again if the airfares were less than other flights at other airports that are available to us.

Sanford Airport was easy to get around in.... Dollar and Alamo rental cars are right there, and the whole area is small and easy to navigate. When we flew Pan Am in April 2000, we actually had to walk across the tarmac to and from the plane because of all the construction. At that time, baggage claim was OUT ON THE SIDEWALK!!!! It was so bizarre. When we went again in December, much of the renovatiing was complete, and we had a terminal, and indoor baggage claim. Beware of Pan Am! They are famous lately for delays and "unscheduled maintenance" They only have a few planes so it irks me that they can be so
behind in their flights. The local newspaper has written several articles about it:

They have also had to make several emergency landings...
This is the flight we took:

The price is right, though! The ride to WDW is about 45-50 minutes and REALLY EASY! There is also a shuttle bus (Coach USA) which will take you round-trip to and from Sanford to WDW.
