Pampered Chef stoneware

I vote for the big rectangle pizza stone.

If you like to make pizza this is it!

Pampered chef's recipes call for you to make the pizza on the stone and then put it in the oven. takes WAY too long! Do it like a real pizzeria and leave the stone in the oven.

Preheat the stone in the oven at like 400 degrees for at least 15 minutes and use a wooden or metal pizza peel (paddle) to get your pizza in and out. Sprinkle some corn meal on the stone and on the paddle before you put on the dough...it acts like little ball bearings so it slides around really nice.

Your pizzas may not always be round, but they'll be delicious and they are cooked in about 7 minutes.

I've been using my stone like this since 1998 and my pizza is legendary among my friends and family.

If you have any trouble cleaning it, use a stainless steel wool pad instead of the scrapers, but like others have said....no soap.

I've never had cookies that baked unevenly on my stoneware, not once. And I make large batches all the time. :)

My faves are the small round and the small baking dish. I love the small dish for making brownies and the small round for pizzas and for cookies. :)

I love my Pampered Chef pans. I have the pizza stone(broke one, bought another--love it THAT much), muffin pan, 2small bar pans, 9x13 pan, probably more but can't remember right now. I use the small bar pans pretty much every day. They're small and not as bulky to pull in and out, plus I"ll throw a few different things on them(garlic bread on one, something else on the other)and cook at the same time. I have a picky eater, so it seems I'm always cooking a little something different from him(tried the whole you'll-eat-what-we're-having-or-not-eat thing....he didnt' eat:rotfl: and I felt like a bad mom).
Anyway, I also love my Pampered Chef batter bowls---they aren't stoneware but if I was ordering again another one would be at the top of my list!

I LOVE the bar pan, I use it a ton, it's about 5 years old. I also have the rectangular flat stone and don't use it as much. It came with the lifter silver thing, but I don't use it as much because it's akward to get in & out of the oven

My stoneware is the only PC stuff I really, really like. I have the 9x13 cake pan and the rectangle pizza stone. I have the stand for the pizza stone, but it's not used that often. I also got the carrier for the cake pan.

I use the pizza stone for cookies, pizza, breads, etc. I use the cake pan for cakes and brownies, casseroles, etc.

I've been using soap on mine for 6+ years and have yet to have a problem - I use one (if not more) almost every day. As I mentioned earlier, I put a very, very small amount of soap on them. I actually questioned my Pampered Chef consultant about this when she recommended it to me and she said she does it all the time. I'm not saying to wash them in a full sink of dish detergent, but an extremely small squirt of soap isn't going to hurt them.

**Please do not use soap on them if you don't feel comfortable. I'm just sharing what I was told I could do without ruining the stoneware.**

Just used the stoneware loaf pan to make my meatloaf tonite. I also use it to make banana nut bread. I also have the large round and the flat rectangular one.
I acquired a new stoneware piece back in Nov at a quarter auction. It's the one that makes six little bundts at one time. I really like it. I would've never paid PC's price for it, but I won it for either 75 cents or $1. Well worth the bid! :goodvibes
I'd recommend getting the large round stone and using it some before buying multiple pieces. Just so that you know YOU like baking/cooking w/ stoneware and you feel comfortable cleaning/storing it. Just my .02, but some people (I know some) do not like stoneware. One friend said it was too cumbersome to use, too bulky to store, and she didn't like having to wash it by hand. While I may not agree w/ her, I understand why stoneware doesn't work for her. Try a piece for a couple of months and if you like it, you can always get other pieces. That way you're not selling stoneware at your yard sale for $2. :scared1: An old neighbor did this. Had I known she was selling hers, I'd have been over at her table first thing. I didn't find out she was selling it until I saw someone buying it. :headache: OH well.
Good luck w/ you decision. :goodvibes

I just had to add that I LOVE my PC stoneware as well. I used to think it couldn't be as great as a few of my friends said.....then I got a piece and fell in love! When DH and I were first married we made french fries on metal pans and had to flip them half way through the cooking time to get them crisp on both sides. Stones do that on their own! I use them for almost everything, especially anything you want to be crispy.

I agree, though, that I don't like how cookies bake on them. But I bake brownies, cakes and all types of bars in them.

My favorites are the large round stone, the small bar pan (great for reheating pizza to get the crust crispy again), the rectangular baker (I like the glazed one - I think it's prettier to serve something like lasagna in it) and the large bar pan.

I'm so glad to see this thread. i have been debating on getting some of these pieces but I just haven't been able to decide if I should and which ones to get. Thanks everyone for your input.

I have some and really do love it. My favorite is my 9x13 baking dish. Although, I have a round pizza stone that I bought for $5 from LTD Commodities and it works just as well.

I was a PC consultant for about 4 years. I have every piece of stoneware and highly recommend it! I would steer away from the muffin pan and the fluted baker simply because they are very difficult to clean. Your basics (IMHO) should be the large round stone, the large bar pan and the oval baker. It is heavy so it's not a good match for elderly peoply or folks with low arms strength. NO SOAP!! not even a little. Soap is simply loosening junk - all you need to kill germs on stones is HOT water and the scraper (friction!) The PP suggestion of baking soda is just fine, I also put mine in the oven on a self cleaning cycle. Remember the worse it looks the better it cooks :rotfl:

I'm not saying to wash them in a full sink of dish detergent, but an extremely small squirt of soap isn't going to hurt them.

Since the stone is made to be porous, the stone will absorb the soap, and it can cause foods to taste like soap. It can also soften the stone. Not so much when the stone is older and soft to the touch, but new stones break very easily if you use soap on them. It says this in the instructions, and it is also what consultants are taught. Your consultant could get into trouble because she is not doing what she should be trained to do. I was a consultant for 9 years.

I hosted a PC show a couple of months ago because the stoneware was all 20% off and the host also got up to 60% off 3 stoneware. Everyone was snapping stoneware up at the 20% off- all I had to do was mention the discount and people were ordering for themself, their mom, their neighbor- EVERYONE!! I got more free product from that show :goodvibes

I don't know if there is a 'general' PC website, I just use the same girl in IL over and over when I need anything. But on her site, there is an outlet section, which also has great deals. I just got a spinning utensil holder, a huge bag of the twixits, the pizza cutter and something else that I can't remember for $15. Since I already have the spinning thing, I used it for my kids arts and craft supplies.

OK, hijacked it for a minute, I know this was about stoneware. . .definitely get it. My DH ate my normal lasagne recipe the first time I cooked it in the 9x13 baker and he asked me if I changed the recipe because it tasted better than the old recipe. The only difference- the stoneware.

I have the large round and the large rectangle ones. Had them for years and love them.

I love it as well. I think I have 5 or 6 pieces. I've hosted a show and usually get a new piece with discount. I also once went to a party that was having a 30% sale.

I vote for the large pizza stone and the bar pans. The muffin pans are the hardest to clean but they turn out some great muffins!!

I've got look for some at yard sales this spring great idea.

I have 3 pieces. I was skeptical, but got two pieces with my free merchandise credits after I had a party last year, then had to buy another...I LOVE them! I have the pizza stone with handles. Use it lots for pizza, biscuits...I LOVE that you can cut the pizza right on the stone and it does not damage it. I also have the large bar pan, which I use lots for french fries, etc, and I most recently bought the bread pan, which might be my favorite, since my family loves banana bread...it ALWAYS comes out perfect without burning. I would like to purchase a smaller pan for oven fried chicken and such at some point.

I do have a round pizza stone(not pampered chef) that I received as a gift. We no longer order take out pizza, the kids love home made pizza on the stone. But I was told that you could use an unglazed terra cotta tile also.

Stoneware does seem to pop up at garage sales and at the thrift stores. I purchased a loaf pan for $1.00.

Mine got a greasy film that I couldn't scrape off no matter how hard I tried. I put it in my self cleaning oven on the cleaning cycle and it came out looking brand new! Now I just put parchment paper over it every time I use it and there is almost no cleanup! I use the large rectangular one the most. It is great to be able to cook roles on the bottom rack of the oven and not worry about them burning while you are cooking something else on the main rack.

I also love my bar pans but my most favorite things are the ice cream scoop and the jar opener.

The key here is have a party! Its the best way to get the most stuff for the least amount of $$... :) I am having one next week :thumbsup2
my fave PC thing is the stainless steel mixing bowl set :thumbsup2
