We have been on DCL quite a few times.

On our last trip we were VERY DISAPPOINTED in
the new DCL policy for the poor waiters and waitress's
in Palo's.

Yes the rate went up to $10.00 per guest, which is
still ok.

BUT, I do not like the new special Oil & Vinegar
Bottles for purchase to be offered for us to buy
or the special Palo's wine offered for us to buy
during our meal!!!! Not a good idea AT ALL!!

We found this to be beyond TACKY!!!!

The last thing we want is Palo's to loose it's
elegant atmosphere and the food still was
better than average, and to date the choc.
souffle is still better than ever!!

Dana :)

We we in Palo twice last week, once for the Champagne brunch and once for dinner and were never offered anything to buy. Just fantastic service from Marc, Beckie and Gemma.

We were on last week as well and had a great dinner at Palo. Our server was Salvatore. He never mentioned anything at all about buying wine or a dressing.

The food was great. The choc. soufle was good but could be a bit more intense on the chocolate. I like dark chocolate.

:wave2:

When we were on the Wonder in Feb, our waiter kind of insulted us because he couldn't believe we did NOT want a glass of wine with our meals. We are non-drinkers and he must have asked us 2-3 times.

I guess he wanted the price for our meal to increase for a bigger tip for himself. It worked the opposite in fact.::yes::

Our waiter was very nice, but I was feeling nauseous and he forced food on us that we didn't want. I even told him I was feeling sick. He wouldn't let me get just a salad for an appetizer. He brought us the buffalo mozzarella (which we hated). He gave us a hard time about almost everything we ordered. Said, you don't come all this way to order a salad you can get anywhere. True, but it's my dinner and I wasn't feeling well. He didn't force alcohol on us--I ordered coffee. After all that, though, I did finish all of my chocolate souffle. Mmmm, one of those would be mightly tasty right now.

We wern't offered the oil and vinegar or wine either. However, I did see the oil and vinegar set in UpBeat and it looked pretty cool. I probably would have bought one if Annie-Marie had offered it! :D

has the souffle changed lately? it looks to be called chocolate & hazelnut souffle now???? :(

Susan--

We had the legendary Palo Soufflé last week and it still seemed the same to me.

I always have a problem with the soufflé though. After eating such a great (and large) meal at Palo I can never manage to eat more than two or three bites of this incredible desert! It's just so rich and sweet!

But, I sure could go for a whole one right now! :hyper:

Ah, I have that problem fixed!! This time (Nov 2004) I'm "eating backwards" by having the souffle as my APPETIZER (yeah it takes 20 min to make - it's worth the wait!!! :hyper:

Hi all!
We were in Palo 3 times last week and were not offered anything to buy. Our server for brunch and dinner was Marc and he was great. We had a wonderful time.

And Jason, we talked to Anne-Marie a great deal and loved her! In fact i have a picture of Anne-Marie and myself (now all i need is to figure out how to post a picture and i'd be fine! LOL).

:)

Jason and JenLyn - Annie-Marie was our assistant server in the dining room on our 3/6 Magic Eastern. She was excited about her interview at Palo. I am so glad she got the job. She was great with us and the kids. Very attentive.

Doesnt sound like the Palo we know and love! NEVER been offered anything to buy, and the food is superb. And NO,before anyone asks, it was nothing to do with our DD working there either: she wasnt in Palo during our cruise!Maybe you just had a bad day health-wise? Nat:Pinkbounc

Okay, I have a silly question........I love chocolate and desserts are my favorite meal of the day!!! However, I never have room for them after dinner, will they let me take it back to my room with me? Just a thought, as I don't want to miss out!

We ate dinner at Palo on the Wonder on 4/30 and we didn't even know there was anything for sale. We weren't offered anything to buy by our server, Serena (who was excellent)! I had the souffle for dessert and it was heavenly - and definitely not hazelnut, just pure chocolate...yum!

Yes, our server offered to let us take it back to our room. HTH

We have had Serena also!!!! Outstanding!!!!

It sounds to me like quite a few of you were on
the Magic. This happened to us on the Wonder
Nov/03.

The bottles were very nice!!! I just do not think
that they should have asked us to purchase them
during our meals.

We ate their twice and it happened both times.

Maybe they were testing something new and
stopped.

They should show it in the front as you are
entering in a nice display, or right near or
outside the door as you are entering? For
anyone who might like them.

The Choc. Souffle is beyond the best, and
YES we were allowed to take one of ours
with us back to the room. But I am not sure
if they will let you do that all the time. The
one party just could not eat anymore -
Palo's is the best and with all the great choices
they were full :) We can understand that :)
So they took it back to their cabin.

Dana :)

When we go to Palo's I will order the dessert for an appetizer, the dessert for the entree and the (you guessed it) dessert for the dessert..........and of course some champagne to wash it all down with :drinking:

As a diabetic I must protest. I only order it as the appetizer and the desert
