Are kids welcome in Palos?

I thought not but saw several there (as well as people in jeans and T shirts) last September. I am taking my kids in May and wanted to check.

Thanks,
John

Absolutely not. Under any circumstances. Including nursing moms. We saw two couples turned away from Palo's during dinner there. One came in pushing a baby stroller. The other came in looking like they had just cleaned out the garage, derssed COMPLETELY inappropriately.

You saw kids dining in Palos???? We have sailed 7 times and have eaten both dinner and brunch and never saw a kid in there as they are not allowed...I have seen inappropriately dressed people though...

Yes, there were 2 kids there about 10 to 12 years old. It surprised me.

It would be nice if they turned away people who ignore the dress code as jeans and a t shirt with a hole kind of ruin the setting.

Thanks,
John

On my last cruise, a couple got married on Castaway Cay and later that night they dined at Palo in the private dining room. I'm wondering whether in a similar situation, passengers younger than 18 might be allowed to join the wedding party dinner.

Just a possibility...

Dasha, that is definitely not a normal event. Kids are definitely NOT allowed in Palo. My only guess is that they were family members of a senior crew member.

I think kids of ALL ages should be allowed in PALOS. I think that they should implement a kid friendly menu and have coconut races and chicken nugget throwing contests.
After all, age discrimination is illegal!

JUST KIDDING!

When I FINALLY get to cruise on the Magic (14 months and counting) I want ONE place where my husband and I can be alone.;)

Good point nearlychildless! I am going through my "OH MY GOD I AM IN MY FORTIES" phase right now so I agree with you!

nearlychildless.... I think I may be one up on this one......

Try the next decade with an 8 year old!!!

Although I can't imagine handling the kid stuff any younger than we did/are there are also days when I wonder HOW we will survive. And it is nice to know that we aren't the only ones dealing with teenages in the 4th and 5th decades of life.

I am 43 and have 19, 18 and 15 year olds. I am so glad I had them when I did because the older I get the less patience (whew...almost typed patients...and I would wind up on the other thread LOL!) I have. I give tons of credit to people who had kids past 30....my goal was to have all my kids and sanity by the time I was 30. I achieved the kids goal....but my sanity is another issue entirely!!!

Amen!!!!! We love Disney, and kid watching always brings back memories. Taking our son, DinL, and grandson last October was too much fun. However, the best thing about kid watching is you can walk away from the "show" and be thankful they aren't with you!! Our cruise brings us to a whole new level of kid watching.

At Palo, do they ask for ID or anything when making reservations or arriving at the restaurant? I mean, do they actually have a system to know if everyone is really 18, or do they just go by looks? I'm surprised to hear that there were young children in Palo, 10-12 years old definetly isn't close to an adult.
