I was wondering if anyone that has had Palo Bunch on the Wonder or Magic with a larger party can tell me how they handled the seating. I have only been with a party of 4 in the past. But there will be 8 of us on our upcoming cruise.

Do they seat you at separate tables or do they have the ability to move tables to keep your group together (assuming they don't seat you in the private room)?

Thanks!

They can put 8 together. They have some that move.

If you get 14 you can book the private room . This has to be that number and booked in advance.

There were seven of us last month and they seated us at what they called the Chef's Table, in the middle of the restaurant. I imagine it seats at least 8, maybe 10.

We travelled on the Wonder and ate in Palo as a group of eight for dinner and brunch. Both times we were in the private room. We did not book this but just where they put us. (Maybe we were a little loud?)

No, if the private room isn't booked by a large party, they will seat a "regular" larger party there to free up the smaller tables in Palo proper.

We had this same issue last year. We were a party of 9. I just booked wat I could in advance and once we boarded I went to talk to the Palo people and requested the private dinning room. It wasn't booked so we got it for both brunch and dinner. If you have 14 people you can book this in advance b

Thank you all so much. That is very reassuring to hear.

I was just a little put off by shoreside concierge. I has asked for a reservation for 8 guests and when the booking window opened it showed two reservations for 4. When I asked if we would all be seated together they said we had two reservations for 4 and they can't move tables for safely reasons. But when we arrive for Brunch to ask at Palo if they can seat us near each other and they will try and accommodate us. Why would I want a reservation for 8 but have us seated at opposite sides of the restaurant?

Plus I thought the reason for making the reservation through concierge was so that I didn't have to go to Palo and try to reorganize our reservations :(

I guess I'm just a little bummed that we splurged for Concierge for our anniversary and I'm still going to end up having to handle things on my own. Do you think the concierge hosts on board the ship will be able to help us?

Are the others in your party cruising Concierge as well? Or is it possible they have a difference CC status? I thought that even if you are concierge, you can only book for those with the same online check-in as you and if the others aren't concierge they wouldn't have the same online check-in window. So that might have been 4 of you with the earlier check-in who were put on one reservation, and the other 4 were a separate reservation because they had to be booked after the initial 4 were booked. Maybe...?

Last year we were told there were no tables for 9 so had to have different reservations. On the ship they can combine these into one and hopefully put you at one table or next to each other. Also, like many have posted if the private dining room is not in use they will put you there.

OP - didn't realize you were concierge. When you board you will meet with your concierge team and I would ask them to request the private dining room for you or see if they can fix this. For us last year, we were not cruising concierge so I went as soon as I got on board(I am platinum) and spoke to the Palo Manager and he scheduled us in the private dining right there.

Don't go that way. Once on board just ask your concierge to take care of this and they will. That's why you sail concierge!

Thank you both! I received another email from shoreside concierge and they indicated that there are only tables for 2, 4 or 6 so they have to split the reservation into two. The first responses didn't not explain that and said that I had requested 2 reservations for 4 (so I was totally confused, LOL).

I will wait until we are on the ship and ask the concierge host there. We have 3 (of the 4) couples celebrating their 20th anniversary so I really hope we can work something out so that we can be together at one table.

If not, I'm sure we can find other ways to celebrate. :)

Thanks - I'm going to ask them about it at the welcome reception. We haven't sailed concierge before and we decided to try it for our 20th Anniversary so I have no idea what we are doing when it comes to requesting things ;) . I am really looking forward to a little pampering, LOL.

Concierge is all about pampering, so just ask them anything you would like. No use paying the big $$$ for concierge and still doing all things yourself. Besides: concierge hosts have influence on places you don't.
And don't worry: they will tell you if your request is impossible, but you will be amazed by the things they are able to arrange.
