So we are trying to figure out what time to book our Palo Reservation for us and our friends.

We want to get the kids fed first and then drop them off in Oceaneers. We'll take them to the MDR (we have first eating at 5:45pm), watch them eat, drop them off, then head over to Palo

Our respective kids are 2, 7, 7, 9, 10. Toddler will go to nursery.

How long would it take for our kids to get served? How long would it take normal kids of this age to get through the meal?

I know booking 7pm would be safer, but would you think a 6:30 reservation would work?

If it's off the kids menu it can be quick. Depending on when you plan to dine at Palo - it's very easy to arrange with your servers the morning of or at lunch that day....or even night before. Let them know what you are doing and they will have the kids dinner ready and waiting. Disney is great like that!

The children can always eat with us in the Lab and nursery too. We usually eat around 6 pm :)

I would suggest you drop your kids at the clubs prior to 6 so they can eat there. That way you can get ready for Palo in peace too :-)

Having the kids eat with the club depends on whether or not they will eat what is served there. That never worked with DS. We got quick service from upstairs and had the kids eat in the room while we got ready for Palo. Also, if you go to the MDR it will depend on which night. If you are in AP for the show night, the timing of the service is dependent on the show music, so it is more difficult for the servers to rush food.

I don't think there's any way you could make a 6:30 Palo reservation if you want the kids to eat in the MDR. 7:00 would be the earliest I'd be comfortable with. You don't want to be sitting in the MDR stressing about making it to Palo.

As long as your Palo reservation is not on the 1st or last night Cabanas is open for sit down dining. This may be a little quicker. Or my kids enjoyed skipping the main dining rooms and heading straight for the kids club. We would either get food from the pool deck (you can get fruit and milk) or order room service. There is no extra charge for romm service but you should tip a few $$.
So my husband would either feed the kids up on deck while I got ready, then I would take the kids to the club while he got ready. Or we would bring the food back to the cabin or order room service and let the kids watch a movie and eat while we got ready.

We just get the kids room service. They eat while we get ready. It works perfectly. We book at 6pm reservation.
