Palo dress code

I just went to check it, it was a link through the FAQ sticky above. It's apparently an "unofficial" DIS information site. :headache:

I think if you went to the FAQ sticky, then Dress Code and clicked on Palo, you were actually taken to The Offical DISboards information site (The Internet's Largest Unofficial On-Line Guide to Disney Cruises Information) and this thread is part of the DISboards! lol! :rotfl2: where the information is out of date.

Oooops! :rotfl:

Least now the info can be updated so anyone looking there will get more up-to-date accurate information! :goodvibes

Oui. :confused3 Yes they do. We're going on a 4 day cruise on the 15th and I bought a floor length evening gown to wear to dinner at Palo's. Him on the other hand.. He's going to be dressed in tan khaki's, a black button down shirt and Red satin tie to match my dress.. Now I KNOW we won't be kicked out, but now I wonder if we won't be waaay to overdressed for the occasion?? Shoot I've already paid for the dress and alterations so it's getting worn! Lol:rotfl:

Please stop fretting!

You will be admired by all of the Gentlemen in the restaurant, and will look a million dollars!
Any catty look's will be from those who are jealous of how great you both look!

I cannot imagine any possible way for anyone to ever, ever be overdressed for Palo. The restaurant is elegant, the food and waiters are superb, and most of your fellow diners will respect this setting and dress appropriately. There will be a few, perhaps, in a tux and evening gown (though in our experience that is the exception, it does happen). Relish the opportunity to have dinner in such a place. And the view.....

TeamH5,

I think I've said it before, but just remember play it down a bit if you meet any of the princesses on the way!
Wouldn't wan't to outshine them! ;)

Please do! And pictures on on the ship for anyone else worried about being overdressed! Belle of the ball spring's to mind, and you will be appreciated by the crew (men and Women) for your efforts!
(If only they knew what you went though to get the dress! lol!) :rotfl2:

Have a fantastic time there, and definitely get the soufflé for desert!

I think "Inconsistent" is the best way to describe any dress code enforcements on our Palo visits.
This past Christmas Eve on the Dream (Dinner) as we sat in the Meridian Lounge there seemed to be several different approaches.
First it seemed like Remy diners were held to a higher standard. One person in a dress shirt and tie was "loaned" a jacket. One man came in wearing jeans and was sent back to change. Then In came a man wearing a washed out faded baggy Polo shirt and what seemed to be jeans and was allowed into Palo. There were a few people with short sleeved shirts and no jackets (all for Palo)
While were were dining they brought in 3 people who sat at the next table. The guy was wearing just a scruffy looking polo shirt over what seemed to be jeans.
They addressed him as "Dr' so I guess the rules are flexible. It does not bother us but we find it is nice to dress up out of respect for the ambiance of the place and of course we are rule followers anyway.:cool1:
Funny enough There were "Friendly "reminders throughout the cruise about the Palo/Remy dress code but like all the adult areas, beach and night clubs people just don't seem to take any notice. From a family with 2 kids of under 12 sitting next to the bar in the quiet cove, to a couple of 14 years olds at Serenity Bay to kids sitting in the District lounge at 10pm Aah well it was Christmas...IMHO enforcing the wearing of a jacket in Palos is the least of their worries. It's time for us old geezers to storm the Vibe as the teens have the best area on the ship:rotfl: LOL:rotfl:

A behavior tool in the making I think!?.....
Maybe they could start off with 1,000 point's and anyone participating in the Vibe Club that get's caught doing something they shouldn't by a YAC CM, Security, Quarter Masters etc, looses the team 100 points.
If they loose the lot, then the parent's get to invade the Vibe on the last night and have fun as well! :rotfl2:
