Palo Dress Code Confusion

:thumbsup2 Well said. Society means conforming to the norms. Without it we have Carnival CL!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I took your point to be in the above that if you don't want to abide by DCL's dress code then you should sail on Carnival because they are a less classy cruise line.... and the other poster made the point that Carnival has a stricter dress code than DCL.

And I agree with the other poster.....I saw many people turned away from the dining room on Carnival on formal night than I ever saw on DCL. And the majority of people were in tuxes and floor length gowns...much more dressy than the folks on DCL. Carnival does enforce their dress code in the dining rooms.

If I also missed the point then what was the point?

On both of our Carnival cruises I saw people turned away at diner time for not being dressed properly :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Dcl is getting a little relaxed in my opinion:sad1:

I agree and I think they are because the demographics seem to be trending to younger and younger children on the cruise and in the parks. I think that I have been seeing more kids under 10 and fewer teenagers. And in general, the younger the kids the less "formal" clothing you will see on the parents. IMHO - parenting is a hard job and dressing / packing formal clothing is one of the easy areas to "let slide"

You do not have to pack a coat if you wear it on the plane. It stows easily with the carry-on in the overhead. I feel much more comfortable with a coat and tie at Palo's even though I'm not fond of ties.

DW and I were recentlly on The Wonder ( first week of Jan )
We arrived at Palo for brunch and were seated next to a man who had on
blue jeans open toed sandals and... are you ready

A football jersey, NE Patriots to be exact

I understand brunch is not as formal but a football jersey?

Personally I wish they would enforce a little more:confused3

We just finished the Disney Magic Jan 31 tour. I do enjoy the 'dressing up' part of the dinners and was a bit surpirised to see people in jeans for semi formal night. I did bring a suit along for formal nigth and just removed the tie for Palos and semi formal nights.

Never hurts to dress the part once and a while plus we got some great photos from the Cruise Photographers.

Exactly, DCL is getting more relaxed and personally we do not care for it one bit
