There's probably a thread on this I can't find-anyone done the Palo dinner alone? Thoughts? TIA!

Thank you!
No reason not to. (dine alone).

Another thought - how about asking on your cruise meet thread to see if anyone else would like to dine with you?

Thank you! I have a very people demanding job, and toddler at home-so I've been trying to take a few hours to be "off" every week. I wasn't sure if this would be uncomfortable or odd choice to do alone. It would also give my DH and DS some father/son time.

I've dined solo at Palo once for dinner and twice for brunch. It was amazing every time. I received very attentive service. Once it was almost too attentive as the server seemed to feel she had to linger to make small talk since I was alone. I just had to work into the conversation that I was enjoying the chance to decompress and have some alone time. If you are the type of person who is comfortable dining alone, then go for it and you won't regret it.

On a cruise with the kids but without the DH, I did Palo Brunch on my own. It was the most amazing experience. I loved looking out at the ocean while eating a wonderful meal and enjoying the peace and quiet. My server was wonderful and I didn't feel odd about it at all. I highly recommend it!

I've done brunch alone, which feels more relaxed to me than dinner. There are a lot more couples having romantic evenings at dinner. But if you are comfortable with it, by all means go for it!

I did dinner solo and it was amazing. I felt very spoilt and the view was lovely. Really nice server too that really too care of me.

Another one who has done dinner and brunch solo (twice!!!) and LOVED IT! As others have said, I've felt like a pampered princess every time with multiple restaurant staff popping by to say hi and check on me. One of my dinners I was in one of the little rounded booths and pretty much could overlook all of the main room - talk about feeling like royalty!

Definitely go for it!!

I've done dinner and brunch alone multiple times. It's wonderful. I always carry my kindle or a small book on the ship, but I don't recall using it in Palo much. It was just nice and relaxing.

I've done dinner solo. Loved it and would do it again. I travel and eat solo often so I'm used to it. I actually found Palo better than some other places. While the server did chat a bit the balance was a bit better because of the length of the meal. Because it is so long there was plenty of time to enjoy the food and chat in between. Sometimes servers get too chatty with solo diners and assume we're lonely when we're not - read the social signs people, I'm trying to politely give you the message that I'm not really into chatting.

I did the Remy dessert solo on my last cruise and it was great. I had the best seat in the restaurant all to myself and an amazing server. It was her last day before going home to France for 6 months. I plan on doing Palo brunch solo on my next cruise. I don't think I would feel comfortable doing either solo for dinner. Too many romantic couples. Also, I like doing the rotational dining with my daughter.
