We would like to have brunch on the day at sea on the 4 day cruise. I looked at a Navigator and it said jackets were recommended for men, just as they are for dinner.

However, I've found a number of different pictures, and every one seems to be filled with people who are wearing casual clothing.

What is your experience? How many brunchers (is that a word?) at Palo's wear a coat and tie?

DH wore Dockers and a golf shirt and I wore a denim jumper. I don't remember seeing any jeans or shorts on anyone the times I have been to brunch.

NO shorts or jeans...I wore capris with a nice blouse....Nice pair of pants and a polo type of shirt would be fine for a male...don't remember seeing any men with a coat jacket.

I appreciate the info - we are taking our wonderful elderly parents, and he does not want to take a coat and tie. I know he'll be fine for the regular dining rooms, and it's nice to hear we can go to Palo's for brunch!

I wonder if Disney might consider dropping their dress suggestion for brunch at Palo's. It appears from all the pictures I've seen, and the couple of posts here, that men just don't wear ties. Seems like all they are doing now is causing some (such as myself) apprehension....

about 75 days and loosely counting...

No jackets neede for brunch...I wore a sundress and hubby wore a nice pair of pants and shirt. Everyone else was pretty much dressed the same. Woman also had on nice capris/pants and a top with sandals.

My DH also hates wearing a jacket, but Brunch in Palo is more relaxed than Formal Night. He wore a shirt and tie and smart trousers, and I had smart blouse and ELASTICATED waist skirt! You will NEED room to breath after all that food! Nat:Pinkbounc

Congrats on your 500th post Nat and tell Dave that HE may have thought the pants he were wearing were "smart" but the poll I took outside thought otherwise. ;)

Cheers,
Grumbo

I actually saw them deny entry to someone at Palo who was wearing "dress" jeans. The person was NOT happy and raised a bit of a fuss. The significant other (who was wearing a dress) was not happy with him :)

Just KNEW those lime green chinos were a mistake!haha.

Must remember to take his "uniform" next time - just in case Grumbo is lurking with his polaroid! Gee, how "posh" do we need to be in Palo?haha

Our navigators from last week's cruise said "Resort Casual" for the Brunch.

I saw to men in t-shirts and shorts

Most men wore dress slacks or kakis and button down shirts.

I'm as casual as they come on vacation, and avoid "dressing up" whenever possible. Having said that, I'd never think of wearing shorts to Palo for Brunch. We saw a few gentlemen who did that and they really did seem out of place, and I'm FAR from a "dress snob."

Beyond that, nice slacks and polo shirts seemed to rule the day nicely.

Mind you, in no way did what anyone wore interfere with my enjoyment of everything Palo!

Most of those at our Palo brunch were in resort casual. A few men had sports coats on. Most women in sundresses, or nice capri/pants outfits.

The brunch was fantastic!!We ate too much as we had to try everything. They do half orders of some items tho, so you can sample more!

oops, I just realized when I made my original post I didn't read the word "brunch".
What I saw was at dinner!

I was curious what they meant by "resort casual." So, I went up to Palo's one morning and asked the staff there what was appropriate for brunch. Was pretty much anything as long as it was ragged clothing or swim suits and t-shirts. They specifically mentioned that dress shorts were fine. Very interesting I thought at the time.
