Hi all,

So I have Palo brunch booked for the second day of our cruise and would prefer to have a later day and different time. Do I cancel the booking and try to book on board? or do I keep the existing booking and try to change the booking on board? Is this possible without any penalty? This is for a 7 night cruise and I will have a group of 8 adults in total.

Thanks,
Robert

I would keep it for now and keep checking the website to see if a different date/time opens up. However, you will have to cancel the booking to see if there's anything else available and this could result in someone else then taking that booking time. You could call Disney and ask them if there is any other dates/times available, I haven't done this, but have seen others on here recommending it. If you call, keep your booking and if they can change it, they will do so. If you haven't been able to get a better date/time when your cruise begins, keep the booking and try to get it changed as soon as you board. I've never cancelled anything at Palo so don't know about penalties. I wouldn't cancel unless you absolutely don't want to keep the date/time you have, with a large party it might be difficult to get a different booking, however they will try to get you what you want if possible.

FYI: Brunch is only offered on “sea days on most cruises
Sometimes on the 3day cruises it’s offered on the Nassau day
a and sometimes when the ship has a later arrival at a port it will be offered.

Keep it and go to Palo on embarkation day or to the location noted on your Navigator for dining changes to see if they have other times and dates available.
Depending on your itinerary, you may want to keep that Sunday brunch because they only do brunch on sea days. Western route has 2 sea days and Eastern has 3 so Eastern has more opportunity for brunch.

I wouldn’t cancel it even if you’re just doing so to check other times. I would not risk that. Checking on board is a good idea though not sure if it will be tougher with 8 of you.

You say that you would prefer a later day and different time. If that means that you do not want to go on the second day at all, then you can cancel that reservation. If however you would go on the second day if that's the only thing available, the do not cancel. As others have suggested, on embarkation day it will be a place to check for Palo reservations, you should go and do that as early as you can. Palo reservations can be canceled up until midnight the day before your reservation. So if you decide you don't want to go on that second day, you can cancel it on embarkation day.

Is this possible without any penalty?

Agree with the PP completely on this! Penalty? Pretty sure it's what dcassetta said, just have to cancel by the evening before your rez. Good luck! Palo Brunch is DH and my favorite meal onboard!!

You can call DCL and have them check to see if there is anything else available. This way you don't cancel your existing reservation and risk losing it. It used to be (2 years ago) that you could check other times without cancelling which was way more convenient. I called often the last 2 weeks of our booking window as I was trying to get a different time for 3 different things including 2 meals. It does get annoying since each call takes approx. 10 minutes. You can also try the chat feature but in my experience talking to someone was more productive.

I went to brunch with a new friend I had met on our cruise group. Nothing was avail online before we sailed so we booked it once on board. Before I left Palo after we finished, I asked if they had any other days avail, thinking DH might want to go back with me on another day, and they lots of availability that I could have booked.

I hope it works out for you! Good luck!

I would keep the booking and ask onboard on embarkation day if they can switch you. Depending on your length of cruise, you may easily be rebooked or it may not be offered on another day.

Best of luck!
