Ok, we are getting clothes ready. What do you think about ladies linen Capri pants for brunch? We have seen no capris but thought that was for dinner but now don't know. Will we have to go change? Thanks

I have worn dressy capris with a nice top and accessories to Palo Brunch several times as well. I make sure they are more "country club" look than the casual capri & top, if that makes sense. :)

Many report here they wear capris to Palo and were not turned away. Seems to me Palo is asking for people to dress appropriately for this elegant restaurant, and those who do so don't seem to have to worry.

Just a note of caution, though, the Disney website today says "Please no jeans, shorts, capri pants, flip-flops or tennis shoes." So be prepared for Palo to enforce their dress code, just tell them the DIS said it was okay LOL

I've seen capris turned away (for brunch). And I've seen capris allowed. I'd suggest having a back up, in case they are enforcing the dress code.

Absolutely agree with Shmoo and Over50visits that it does say no capris and that you should have a ready back-up. The maxi dress is a great idea. JMO, but I think the important thing is to look NICE and not casual. As I've mentioned a few times in that infamous thread on formal/semi-formal nights on cruises, one can the same clothing item and dress it up or down. The capris I wore were nice enough that with a very nice top, cute sandals and accessories, I think I "looked" dressy and that is likely why I was able to go to Palo brunch without incident more than once in capris.

The dress code states no capris. Why would you put the employees in a bad position to tell you to go change clothes. This is the rule why do you feel the need to not follow it.

I am not going there after all the angst and gnashing of teeth on a thread about formal nights, Weedy. NO way. But just so you know, at least the very first time I wore capri pants to Palo, which was in 1999, I do not believe there was a rule about it. And again, I am not talking about your everyday capri pants. I am talking about dressier ones, that have been further dressed up by the top and accessories I chose. I am usually dressier than about half the other ladies in Palo at the same time.

I wonder if people would be as arrogant face-to-face, as they are on the DISboards?

The first time DH and I went to Palo, we were INVITED, as we had an unexpected sea day. I asked the Palo rep (who phoned us,) "What is the dress code for brunch?" His response, "cruise casual, but we kindly request no shorts, no jeans." "So, may I wear capris." "Yes M'am."

I saw plenty of capris the two separate times I went to Palo brunch. I think it's just going to depend on who is manning the front desk. We went to brunch at Palo on 11/9/2015. There were so many people not in proper attire. I saw shorts, graphic t-shirts, converse sneakers, other types of athletic shoes and capris. I guess management didn't care that day. FWIW, I wore a maxi dress and was able to get in with my Tory Burch leather flip flops. It was an honest mistake. I completely spaced it. I had put them on that morning and was going to go back to the room and switch to a pair of wedges. We were off doing something on the ship and then headed straight to Palo. I didn't realize what I had done until a saw other people's footwear then looked down at my own feet. Oops!

I think it also depends on the ship. When we went to brunch on the Magic (2014) everyone was dressed up, no capris. On the Dream (2015) I saw one women in very dressy capris that looked more like a skirt. Personally, I would wear a maxi dress or dress pants just to be on the safe side. Hope you have a great cruise!

There was a couple at the entry to Palo just standing around the checkin area when we arrived. They were not dressed appropriately at all. We were seated and about 10 minutes later they were escorted in dressed exactly how we had seen them in the hall. I wondered what they did or said to be able to come in without the requested attire.

Just got off a B2B and did Palo brunch twice. On the first one one I wore a long cotton skirt and sweater and #2 I wore a short casual skirt, linen t-shirt and linen sweater. Both outfits were casual. Most people were dressed similarly but one woman came in shorts and flip flops. She was not turned away. I think you will be fine.

Read somewhere recently that they changed cruise casual to include shorts.

I saw several people turned away on my last cruise (we did two brunches) and each time it caused angst for the party being called out. I'd just pack some think the fits the dress code and be done with it. No chance of embarrassment, no spoiling your mood.

Well we are ones that enjoy the rules and want to do what DCL wants, but had never remembered the no capris before so did not know if that was dinner or both. We will pack accordingly and follow the rules! Thanks for the replies
