Good morning! I got a reservation for Palo brunch and the chocolate/liquor tasting, but the times are pretty close together. The tasting would start an hour after our Palo window ends. Is this…too much? We’ve never done either so don’t have a gauge on what to expect. Are we just going to be in food/alcohol coma the rest of the day?

Yes its too much.

I did Palo Brunch and Chocolate and Liquor Tasting on The Dream last year

My Palo Brunch was for 11.30am. I was done by 1.30pm.

My Chocolate and Liquor Tasting was at 2.30pm

It's a lot but it's really your call whether to try it. I wouldn't go right from Palo to the tasting, but if you have an hour between, that should work.

Palo brunch is all-you-care-to-eat, so you can order and eat a lot or just a few items. Brunch includes a glass of champagne (or a non-alcoholic drink, if you prefer).

The chocolate and liquor tasting is heavier on the liquor than the chocolate. When I attended last year on the Fantasy, it included small disks of white, milk, and dark chocolate to accompany various liquors. Of course, you don't have to finish each drink (and I didn't) if you don't want to have that much.

My husband and I have booked Palo brunch for 11 am and Chocolate and Liquor tasting for 2 pm on an upcoming cruise, so we'll see how it goes.

I would definitely say Brunch if you have to choose one. Maybe check and see if you can move one or the other once you board.

Thanks! If I had to pick one, I should pick the brunch, right?

The tastings are set times, as its a group and has to fit in with the bartenders schedule. Often the same bartender with 2 or more tasting in a row.

I would keep both at the moment, then on embarkation day go to the dining reservations team and see if you can move the time of the Palo Brunch. You can then decide which one to keep and which to cancel if you cant get a new Palo reservation.

I think timing wise it should be fine. We have done both in a day many times, especially if we are on a shorter cruise. It is definitely doable as the tasting has a couple bites of chocolate per each of the 4 tastes.

We made the mistake of having a 10 am Palo Brunch and a 1 pm Choc/Liquor tasting and never again will we schedule it like that. We had so much good food at Palo we could not at all enjoy the choc/liquor tasting which is actually our favorite amongst the tastings.

I was full for hours after Palo Brunch and cannot imagine doing any beverage tasting afterwards. I drank water to help digest the copious amounts of food but alcohol would be a no-go for me.

I did that one time on a mediterannean cruise which was my first cruise, literally only 30 minutes to spare. I was very full. This time I made sure to do brunch the earliest time available and give myself 3 hours to play around. In addition, going to just eat enough and not try to over indulge.

Another helpful Palo tip: Don't ever, ever do Brunch and Dinner on the same day. We did this, granted back when brunch was buffet and dinner was not prix frie, and regretted it so much. The food was great but we ate so much more than we should have. The GI repercussions were worth it. Maybe

I would also advise not to do Palo dinner one night and then Palo brunch the next morning.

I did that two cruises ago. We had dinner booked ahead of time, but couldn't get brunch so we went to dining changes once onboard and that's all they had. We took it, because that's all they had, but vowed never to do that again. 😂

I had Enchante Brunch and Chocolate and Liqour tasting booked on the Wish in April 2023 and ended up canceling Brunch, I much prefered the tasting, if it had been Palo I would have kept both
