Southern California Palm Springs before DLR?

My husband has a golf tournament in Palm Springs. We will be there for a week before driving to DLR. Any must sees while we are in Palm Springs or along the way? Would greatly appreciate any tips. Thanks so much!!!

The aerial tram up into the mountains is very fun.

There is a water park there, a Soak City I believe.

There's a desert zoo called the Living Desert nearby but we have never been.

The Outlets at Cabazon are very close by. Kids love to look at the giant dinosaur statues near the road.
