Palm Pilot/PDA Suggestions

I'm looking for a SIMPLE Palm Pilot/PDA. I keep seeing mention of outlook express which I don't normally use, will I have to? I'm looking for something to replace my day planner I use now. Addresses/Dates/Notes things like that. Anyone have any suggestions? Cheap would be nice too

hmmm, not simple, but I absolutely love my Tungsten T5. I have also had a Zire 71 and was happy with it. What day planner do you use? I know Franklin Covey makes software for specific Palm devices that mimics the paper planners.

I am thrilled with mine and it makes planning my days (at work and home) much more efficient.

I have a Palm Zire 71. It's a couple years old and no longer on the market. Otherwise, I'd definitely recommend it for you.

I'd suggest going to http://www.palm.com/us/ and browsing around. Consider how much you want to spend and what you want your PDA to do for you. Just an organizer? Phone too? Email too? Read Word docs or Excel spreadsheets?

There are a lot of options. I think the most basic one, currently the Z22 handheld, is about $99. It comes with easy Palm software for entering all your data. So, to answer your question - no you don't have to use Outlook or Outlook Express. The Palm desktop is easy and sufficient.

I have a Palm Tungsten E...love it!

I am lost without it, very similar to misplacing my cell phone!

While not the cheapest, I got a Treo.... it is fantastic, I have my palm and my phone all in one piece, so I am never with out either.

And to the OP, I never use outlook express on either the palm or the computer...
