I posted this on the Restaurants Board but didn't get a reply, so thought I'd try here! :D

I'm just wondering whether you tip the strolling musicians at Palios? If so, how much?

Thanks :D

Palio is at the Swan, and we've never tipped them anything as they never stopped at our table in the three times we ate there--two of the three times they weren't even present in the restaurant. If they did I would think a few dollars would be adequate.

we had only one gentleman playing the violin at our table. He played a requested song for us and my husband tipped him $5. It was lovely,

We have enjoyed Palio and the musicians for 6 years now. When the come to our table I always tip them a few dollars but if they play special requests then its $5.00. This last May my son and I decided 'last minute' to pop in Palio for a late dinner. The musicians were leaving and saw us. They turned around and came right over!!!!! My son asked for the SpondeBobSquarePants song and they knew it!!!!!!!! I asked for 2 Dean Martin songs and they knew them!!! It was a $10 tip night. They stayed and played about 10 songs for us - all thru our meal. My child felt like a celebrity (and so did I).

Thanks everyone for your replies. :D

MamaQuack - how sweet! :D
