Palin Under the Bus

This isn't rocket science people.

1. McCain's aides were paid to win an election.
2. They lost.
3. They'd like to work again, but who wants to hire losers?
4. Therefore, they must convince potential future clients that their client lost due to an independent intervening cause (Palin).

sorry hadn't read all posts before I jumped, if I hadn't been so quick I could have just said "ditto" you nailed it.:thumbsup2

Ahh...once again, my favorite subect.
I'll just say I agree with corndog and others. I wish JM would speak up. I think he should. She says she's not playing the negative game and good for her!

That's ridiculous because the entire country of America is not stupid and they voted in a simpleton twice and bought the WMD crapola with open arms.

As

You know, you do not know everything. The truth about WMD will probably never come out and GWB will be thrown under the bus for that too. But obviously he is willing to sacrifice his reputation for it so more power to him.

I have seen reports that a lot of the negative stuff is coming from former Romney staffers who joined the McCain staff after he won the nomination. This man be just another rumor but it makes sense because they could see Palin as a threat to Romney in 2012.
If this is true, then they just kicked their boss out of politics forever.

Well, I guess, in a way, John McCain did speak up just now on Hannity and Colms on Fox News.

His campaign manager, Rick Davis, just made an appearance on the show, defending Sarah Palin. :thumbsup2

She did that enough during the campaign.:scared1:

Or perhaps she was just putting on Ayers.;)

yrtolate, you are clever. :)
Normally you make me laugh. ;) I'm just not laughing about this topic.

Why do you think McCain campaign staffers are thowing SP under the bus?

I don't intend for this to be a thread bashing Palin. I would like to know people's theories on why this is happening.

It's an interesting question. I'm curious about it as well. Doing so, so soon after the election just makes them all look bad. I wondered if they were worried that Palin would go rogue with a sensitive tidbit so they decided to discredit her first?

I think the time is LONG overdue for John McCain to speak out. I am frankly disappointed that he hasn't come forward and made a statement. Sarah isn't taking it sitting down however. Good for her!

Palin Denounces Her Critics As Cowardly

Friday, November 7, 2008 6:30 PM

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin called her critics cowards and jerks Friday for deriding her anonymously and insisted she never asked for the expensive wardrobe purchased for her use on the presidential campaign.

"I never asked for anything more than a Diet Dr. Pepper once in a while," Palin said as she returned to the governor's office from her two-month odyssey as the GOP vice presidential nominee. She said the Republican National Committee paid for the tens of thousands of dollars in designer clothes and accessories.

"Those are the RNC's clothes. They're not my clothes. I never forced anybody to buy anything," she said.

Republican Party lawyers are still trying to determine exactly what clothing was purchased for Palin at such high-end stores as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, what was returned and what has become of the rest.

She particularly lashed out at the anonymous Republican campaign sources cited in a Fox News report who said she did not know Africa was a continent, not a country, and could not name the three countries in the North American Free Trade Agreement — Canada, the United States and Mexico.

"I consider it cowardly" that they did not allow their names to be used, she said.

Palin said those allegations aren't true. She recalled discussing Africa and NAFTA with aides who prepared her for the vice presidential debate with Democrat Joe Biden.

"If there are allegations based on questions or comments that I made in debate prep about NAFTA, and about the continent vs. the country when we talk about Africa there, then those were taken out of context," she said. "That's cruel, It's mean-spirited. It's immature. It's unprofessional and those guys are jerks if they came away with it, taking things out of context and then tried to spread something on national news. It's not fair, and it's not right."

Palin also said she would not call on Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, to resign, although last month, before his re-election bid, she said he should "step aside" and "play a very statesmanlike role in this now." Stevens, 84, was found guilty on seven counts of trying to hide more than $250,000 in free home renovations and other gifts that he received from a wealthy oil contractor.

Three days after the election, Stevens, the longest serving Republican in Senate history, is about 3,500 votes ahead of Democratic challenger Mark Begich with thousands of absentee ballots to be counted in the next two weeks.

Said Palin on Friday: "The Alaska voters have spoken and me not being a dictator, won't be telling anyone what to do."

When asked if she would call on him to resign, Palin said: "Not after the will of the people has been made manifest via that vote."

Good for Rick Davis, but John McCain should make a statement himself.

You know, I do not think he will. I believe that his reason for saying that it was his fault the Republicans didn't win rode deep with him. I believe he really feels he let his emotions get in the way with his choice for VP.

I read in an article that he met with Palin at his home, and they spoke under his favorite sycamore tree. After one hour he decided to choose her for VP.

She is a very charming woman. Very attractive, but the reality the "intellecual elitist" from both parties were not going to accept her lack of knowledge on very important key issues.

I feel that a lot of those in America believe that the role of president should be an image of what America stands for. As long as someone can "relate" to someone it qualifies them for president, amd it takes a lot more than that.

I feel her "lack of knowledge" is a fabrication from a disgruntled few. She negotiated and accomplished the gas pipeline in two years that had been discussed for nearly 30. That clearly required understanding the details of NAFTA. To presume that Joe Biden, who has been wrong on every major issue for 30 years is more prepared to be president, to me, is laughable.

It is amazing to me that in this day and age someone can be so filled with hatred and intolerance. :sad1:

I'm sorry but this is not what I call hatred and intolerance.....
But if your are looking for hatred and intolerance just simply quote any stump speech that Sarah Palin gave about President elect Obama....I'm sure you'll find hatred and intolerance there.

I agree with this. This woman is hardly stupid to accomplish what she has. The left has attacked her unlike anything I have ever seen. When was the last time you heard a male candidate's parenting abilities questioned because he ran? Or the cost of his wardrobe. Take a look at Biden. Those hair plugs and botox ain't cheap!:rotfl:

I don't know if any of the accusations are true or not, but I would think Senator McCain could easily put it all to rest if he were to make a statement about it.

Good for Rick Davis, but John McCain should make a statement himself.

I agree with this. McCain's silence just adds credence to the claims of the anonymous sources. :confused3
