It seems to me that with 30 days to go time is running out for McCain to get her off the ticket and salvage some credibility. Is it too late? Or is he, because of his declining poll numbers, going to make a last minute change and hope for a election time bounce?

Note: Obviously if you're a Palin supporter this thread probably makes no sense to you but for those of us just talking politics it's an interesting circumstance.

I don't see him changing, it would look worse than keeping her.

Also I don't think it would make a difference, I don't see alot of undecideds anymore.

Maybe they just want to boost the economy by giving SNL a lot of good palin (gosh darn it, I'll get back to ya!) material?

I'm an Obama supporter and I don't see where he has this election wrapped up. I'm hopeful but in no way confident that he's going to win.

There is no turning back. It's time to pick the high road or the low road and they have made it clear which road they will be on for the next 30 days.

Thats exactly how all obama supporters should feel until November 5th.....these republicans have shown they will stop at nothing to win an election. They will even steal an election as they did in florida. These people would rather set themselves on fire then let Obama win....We all have to stay vigilant, and give no ground!!!!

If she had embarrassed herself at the debates and left no doubt that she is unqualified for the job then he might have dropped her from the ticket. He cannot drop her because it will mean he used bad judgement when he picked her. She revived his campaign, to bad that McCain could not sustain it.

I heard someone say today that they think she is already positioning herself for 2012. I think she has big ambitions, I also think she could not withstand a primary campaign. She'll go home to Alaska and make a scrapbook of her run for the VP to show her grandchildren. I hope after Nov. 4 to never hear that nasal twang again.

This is just how I feel too! After the last 2 elections I feel that Republicans will stop at nothing.

You are so right. I just hope that Obama really pulls out in front so that they can't steal the election. I really don't want it to come down to one state again.

Oh I agree, it ain't over 'till the fat lady sings...Which is why I was conjecturin' about strategery (sorry). But if the race is still close could McCain pull a switcheroo to a more popular republican mainstream candidate at the last minute and get a quick bounce? I mean a last minute switch to Crist might deliver Florida...

The more the she speaks the more she is needed back in Alaska. ;) John McCain lost my respect picking her. I have always held him in high regard but now I think he needs to finally retire. He's no longer his own man. :(

I wish McCain would pick Crist.

I gotta say that Mccain and Palin are two of the lowest lowdown dirtiest no good politicians I've ever seen. I don't see how they can stand themselves with all the dirt they're dishing out. With Palin talking that mess about Obama palling around with terrorist to an all white audience is only adding wood to the fire amongst those who are already filled with hate.

She's just dirty with a capital D, and Mccain is such an evil bitter dirty old bustard he's just as sickening. I don't care if it were Obama doing this, I'd feel the same way!

I hope Obama continue to take the high road by talking about the important issues and not sully himself with all the negative adds Mccain and Palin are dishing out.

Another thing, I don't care how many witch doctors she have blessing her, she's nothing but the devil, and in the end she and Mccain will REAP all their dirty politicking in the end!

I don't think that would give him a bounce. If he dumps her he would lose because they could not come up with a plausible reason to dump her.

As far as I know the only time a VP was changed was Thomas Eagleton and that didn't turn out well but I don't think that was the only reason that McGovern lost.

I don't know if picking Crist would deliver Florida at this point. People are pretty ticked off at him for not delivering on his campaign promises to fix the homeowners insurance & property tax problems.

But who knows. I think we've proven to the country that we're a bit strange out here; maybe it would make a difference. :rotfl:

That was my thought. I am enjoying every minute of Tina Fey's easy slaughter! :rotfl2: It's so funny it's almost painful! :worship:

I'm not sure about this, but I doubt major shifts such as changing candidates are allowed once voting starts.

I agree that the Republicans will stop at nothing to win. :sad2: I learned 8 years ago that the "system" will make who ever "it" wants to win WIN. I dont think that a 7 point spread is enough to "clinch" the deal. Even if the spread were 20 points I would still feel uneasy.

Back to the original issue, I do see McCain doing a last minuet swith-a-roo to someone that seems great and wonderful so that people vote on what they originally thing....not what they end up thinking after all of the dirty laundry is put out for all to see. If we would have voted a few days after McCain picked Palin then I think they might have won. Now that we know her deal his numbers are slipping. If he slips someone else in at the last minute us Obama supporters might be shut down. :headache:

On the other hand, McCain and Palin seem as stubborn as "W" so they just might stick with their guns.

We'll see.......
