I've been reading in the Brits Guide 2005 about a little radio controlled plush toy of Mickey Mouse that you can hire/buy that'll talk to you as you move aroud the parks, give you tips on when the shows are about to start etc. This is definitely new since my last trip to Orlando back in 2000.

Sounds fab - has anyone tried one of these, and are they worth buying or would it be best just to rent one for the day?

We have a Pal Mickey from our last trip. He is SO cute :)

As you walk round the parks he tells jokes (REALLY corny ones!), and he also 'interacts' with various locations and rides around the parks as you walk round. You can also play games with him too.

It's not possible to rent Pal Mickey any more - you have to buy him now!

Here is some more info about him. From what I've heard, just about everyone who has got one thinks he's fantastic - we're definitely going to buy one when we go. I'm pretending it's for my 4 year old DD - but really it's for me!! :teeth:

We got one for our DD who's 9. They are a good idea but we found it hard to hear him as the parks are so noisey. He doe's vibrate when he has a message so wear him on your belt so that you can feel him. You then have to put him up close to your ear so that you can hear what he has to say.

we got a pal mickey and although he is cute hes more of a pain to carry round (we went light) and like florry said hes very hard to hear. great souvenir though.

love

Did I read somewhere that there is going to be others like Pal Minnie - or did I just make that up??? :)

I know we had a thread on the community board a while back, about what other Pals people would like! I didn't mention it then, but my vote would be for a Pal Mushu or, even better, a Pal Kronk!!! :teeth:

I've heard that Pal M's belt clip doesn't work very well, but that a good way to carry him round is to use one of those bottle holder straps you can buy at any of the parks.

I heard there was going to be a Pal Pooh (possibly) and that they are releasing outfits to dress Pal Mickey in to coincide with the 50 years of magic celebrations.

We found our PM lots of fun and didn't have a problem with him falling off the belt clip (though I had expected to, he was fine)

Sorry, this is completely OT but..... Hi Miffy!!! :wave2: Good to see you back. It seems like you've been away for AGES - hope it felt that way to you!!! And that you had a great time!! :)

Hi Becky! :cheer2:

Not long till it's your turn now :D

The time flew by! We did have a lot of magical times :) and lots of highlights which I will mention in my TR (honest, guv). Arrived back home this afternoon!
