What exactly is this? I remember it is a doll that talks. But, I am afraid that after a while. My kids won't want to hold it and it will be my doll to hold.

I have two DS, 13 & 14. Last year O bought one for myself during our Thanksgiving trip. I almost never got to carry PM. My "too cool to hang out with mom" teen sons fought over who would hold him. Even now at home as we plan our trip for next week my DS are dicussing schedules for who gets to have PM and when. My only advice would be this try renting one for the day and see what happens. You can always apply the rental cost to the purchase cost at the end of the day. Also attach a lanyard or bottle holder and carry him around your neck to lessen the chance of losing him. My DS13 had to get one in April. I too feared it would be a passing thing - WRONG!!! He loved it, carried it everywhere and was very annoyed when I wanted a turn!!!!
