We love our Pal Mickey, but will leave him at home if he doesn't work on the boat. Does anyone know if the boat has set up any radio signals to have Pal Mickey remind us of things? I can imagine him saying, "Hey folks, the Sail-Away Party is about to begin!"

I was wondering abour Pal Mickey. We loved him at WDW and would love to rent him again onboard. Is this an option?

Thanks for any input.

Tigger- good question! I also wonder if Pal mickey works on the ship....

We have Pal Mickey since May. We are taking Mickey for a visit "home" on Saturday for a week. Can't wait!
It is my understanding that he only works in the parks. Not the ship, Downtown Disney or resorts.

I have heard of these Pal Mickeys but never seen one. How big are they, how much do they cost? Do you buy them or rent them?

Cheers,
Grumbo

Pal Mickey is a stuffed Mickey that "talks". He is programed to say certain things at different locations in the parks. Such as in the Haunted Mansion he said "S-c-a-r-y". He announces things such as "the parade starts in 30 minutes" . Pal Mickey costs $60 to buy. You can also rent him by the day, not sure of that cost.

Pal Mickey doesn't work on the ship....it'd be great if he did...
HEAR THAT DISNEY???

I agree, he could be your personal Navigator...
"sail away party is about to begin"
"bingo starts in 10 minutes"
"we're pulling into port in Nassau now!"
"time to rebook your next cruise"

Just as in the parks he'd have to stay quiet in certain places (restaurants, the Walt Disney Theater, etc) I've found he's not at all obnoxious in the parks, rather it's quite entertaining to see grown men squeezing a Mickey doll and then holding one to their ear! :)

Question about the PM, when we were in MK on News Years Eve, we were testing one at one of the stores in Adventureland. Now as you can imagine the crowds and waits were CRAZY on NYE. Well after about 5 minutes of playing with Mickey, he states " Hey I hear the wait is pretty short at Space Mountain" So we drop him and get there as fast as we can! 180 minute wait?!?!?! SO those of you that have him, how accurate is he, and any idea why he said the wait wasnt bad when the line was almost all the way to the line for Astro Orbiter?

Amanda,
Pal Mickey is in "demo mode" until you buy him (or rent him) and they activate him. He may have just been spouting off random phrases. :)
HTH

I must say I did get tired of Pal Mickey. We could hear him very well at Disney Studio but at Epcot and Magic Kingdon we had to put him up to our ears every time he wanted to tell us something. One cute thing that happened when we were going to Future World from World Showcase, was we were in a hurry to see Figment before it closed and Mickey said "here is a good short cut, turn here" we did and saved a lot of steps.
