DD has always wanted a Pal Mickey and we are going to WDW for a visit later this month. A special mother/daughter trip as we have had some rough times here with medical stuff over the last year and a half. We will be down there for a family vacation for some rest/relaxation/sunshine as a family and then DH will be coming home to return to work but has told me that DD and I can go to WDW for a visit. DD has been so AWESOME about picking up alot of slack and doing things that I am no long able to do because of my medical condition.
DD would be SO SURPRISED if I could get a Pal Mickey. I was wondering if anyone out there would have one that they would be interested in trading... I am watching a couple of them on ebay but since this is supposed to be a budget trip, I was hoping to trade for one. :goodvibes

The last time we took Pal to WDW he didn't do very much. Mainly just the jokes, we asked and they no longer do the programing when they walk in the park, so be warned that he may not work like he used to.

thanks for the advice! We didn't know how well he would work since they don't make him anymore and that's why I'd rather trade for him. I know she'd get a kick out of the jokes and she would like to do a trip report around him. I know oversized kids at heart! I figure it's a longshot looking for a trade as the trade thread seemed to die awhile ago but you never know.... thanks for the tip though!! :)

There are usually always several on Ebay. They usually go for about $80-100 :thumbsup2 We've got one that we always take with us.

Wow, does yours still work or do anything when you take it?
I thought they didn't do anything anymore.
Ours stopped working in the same trip we bought it, back in 2003.
We didn't know we could take it and request another working one, just figured we were out alot of money and lesson learned.

Awww... :sad1:
I'm sorry to hear yours doesn't work any more. I don't think there is probably anything you can do at this point. They haven't sold them for at least a few years now so I don't see how you could take him and request another working one. :confused3 You probably could have gotten him replaced when he stopped working back in 2003 though. That really stinks! I feel bad for you. That's frustrating to spend so much money on something and then not have it last. :headache:

I guess that's why I'm not willing to spend big bucks for one on ebay. There are two on there right now. One of them I couldn't even get in time even if I did win it based on when the auction goes off and how long it says for it to ship and when we leave for FL. We are going to FL well before WDW. It was just a thought. Not looking for a handout, just wanted to see if somebody was interested in trading if they had one sitting around collecting dust. I have lots of different disney items! ;) Or I could pick them up something in Disney if there was something particular they wanted from there. Just a thought...

I hope you are able to find one. Our Mickey has been on a bunch of trips with us. The last time he came with us was May 2011. Most all of the sensors were still working then. They have not been updated since they stopped selling the Pal Mickey so some of them are out of date.

We love our Mickey!

Can't help you find one, but this is the only trip report I ever subscribed to - the author was hilarious!

The Day the Mickey Died - In memoriam: Pal Mickey

Warning: it's lengthy. I spent hours reading it - couldn't stop.

I read this trip report as he was writing it!!!!!
Wasn't it hysterical?? Sometimes I laughed so hard I cried! This guy was really talented at writing. I loved Mickey's irrational fear of water and his obsession with Ariel. What a Hoot! I used to get upset (not really!) when the author would take a break from writing installments! Boy was that frustrating waiting!!! Best TR I have ever read!!!

Yep, he still works in the parks, but is outdated. :thumbsup2
