Pal Mickey

It depends on you :) I got one for my 10th anniversary trip in January 2005 and I LOVED HIM  My DH however thought he was corny. He would tell us little things to do (like I never knew if you pulled the rope in the well outside of Indiana Jones it would talk to you) and tell jokes. I absolutely LOVED him (said that already didn't I). We had a bunch of pictures taken with characters and they would all grab him and pose him (except Donald, Donald held him behind his back and the CM said he doesn't like Mickey to steal his moment). When we go with the kids later this year we plan on getting a second one so they don't have to share (heaven forbit you would have to share right :)

I have been reading alot about Pal Mickey and have decided to get him. ::MickeyMo If not for the others in the group, for myself!! :Pinkbounc I know that he is expensive but I love the idea of having him "talk" when I get home! A great reminder of the trip!!! :smickey:

Just to clarify for anyone...

Pal Mickey WILL "talk" when he is away from the parks...
but he will not say anything ABOUT the parks when he is not actually THERE.

He will tell "non-park-related" jokes and play some very simple games, but as to anything that is considered informational or "about the parks"... nope.

We take our "Classic" Pal Mickey to WDW on every trip.
We've been there 6 times since he was "adopted" by us.

We Love our Pal Mickey! I also love that you can play games and talk when not at the parks. It is nice to get a little Disney Magic when you can't be there!!!!!

My DD "11" takes pal mickey on every trip. She loves to play with him at home too. It is neat that he will tell you when a line to a popular line is short, or when the parades are about to begin.

No way!!! You shouldn't get a Pal Mickey!

1 He was hard to hear [very hard.]

2 He did't give out any good stuff.

3 It's just something Disney made for money.

From Lucy :rotfl: :sad2:  :furious: :stir: :rotfl2: :lmao:

That's alright, Lucy. That bad old Pal Mickey won't bother you any more.

Now, time for bed. Off with you, now.

And when you wake up, things will be ALL BETTER. :goodvibes

I got my niece (4) a Pal Mickey for Christmas and we took it on our January trip. He started out clipped to her pants (my sister forgot to put the lanyard in Bri's suitcase when she was packing for her) and ended up in a shopping bag. He was kinda hard to hear, and he kept falling off her pants. The funny thing was that while in the bag I knew when he was saying something because I felt the bag vibrate, but due to the height difference Bri could hear him chuckle and would say, "Mickey's talking again!" LOL But we stopped taking him out to hear what he was saying and eventually left him in the room.

But with that being said, she now LOVES her Pal Mickey and carts him all over the place. The thing that always gives me a giggle is that she doesn't just call him Mickey but she refers to him as Pal Mickey.

We're going back in December, I'll have to get one for my other niece before we go. And I figure if my nephews end up meeting us down there (they live in Ocala) I'll get them each one as well. Can't do for one and not the others, right? LOL

OH! And don't forget to bring extra batteries! Our first day there Mickey's batteries died and Bri kept telling me, "Mickey's dead." LOL

We bought a Pal Mickey on our last trip after several. We always had looked at him but didn't want to spend the money. Well my daughter wanted only him so we bought him--she doesn't want princess costumes anymore--so sad for me!! Anyways she loved him and we did too! He isn't very loud so when he has something to say, he vibrates and then you hold him up closer to your ear. I think this is so he doesn't bother anyone near you. He has quite a few neat things to say and is funny too. He doesn't talk about the parks when you get home but still tells jokes and plays games. On our way back to the airport he was telling us to pick a spot because the parade at MK was going to start--LOL-- :lmao:

He makes the trip have a little more pixie dust and we all need that! pixiedust:

It is a little stuffed Mickey, he comes with a lanyard to hang him around your neck or a belt clip. Like the above poster said he does fall off when you clip him to your belt. Whenever you enter a park he tells you when the parades are going to start, & he will tell you if a line is short. When we were in MGM he told us TOT had a short line. He also tells jokes, & when you go to certain rides he will say something about it. He says he is afraid of TOT. He plays games when you take him home too.

When we bought ours it ran out of batteries a day later and we just took it to a store where they were selling them and showed them our reciept and they exchanged the batteries for us. I think if it is within a couple of days they know just too many people have "tested" him out and his batteries went dry.

Is there a way for me to order my Pal Mickey and have him shipped to me before my trip. If so, where and how do I order?

Anyone out there knows if Pal Mickey can be purchased from home?

You might be able to buy him online at the disney website but I am not sure.

WE bought one for our four year old dd after she fell asleep the first day at the park. We hid him from her until she went to bed. We took himout of the box and set him up in the room with some pixie dust (glitter) and a note from tinkerbell. The note read...Thank you for coming to Disney to meet me. I am so happy to see you that I have sent Tinkerbell to visit your room and leave you a little friend to keep you company during your trip. Please take good care of him and I hope to see you soon. Love Mickey.

She found him in the morning and it was one of the best experiences of the trip. Each night when she went to bed she wondered if Tinkerbell would come back to visit and on the days she was very good Tinkerbell came and left her tiny presents and more pixie dust. I had packed Disney stickers and a disney coloring book and some Crayolas with glitter in them before we left for this purpose. She loved it and it got her excited to get to the parks faster. I got this tip on this board and it helped a ton with getting her to wake up. To this day she calls the crayons her Pixie crayons because they have Tinkerbells Pixie dust in them.

I would recommend Mickey she loved him and took him everywhere. The lanyard made this real easy for her and she loved to hear him talk to her. It also gave her something to play with when standing in the lines and waiting for parades.
