We are going to WDW in August for 6 days. DH and I will be travelling with DD(18 months) and DS 16.

Is Pal Mickey worth the $$

Pal Mickey probably wouldn't be worth it given the ages of your kids. We bought one for our kids to share when they were 4 & 2. The 4 y/o loved it and the 2 y/o just wanted to cuddle it occasionally. The next trip the kids were 6 & 4 and they both loved it.

We bought Pal Mickey last December, when we were there for DD's 6th birthday.

It didn't work properly. It wouldn't say anything. Finally, at Mousegear, the first night, some lovely CM or manager changed the batteries and it began to work.

The next day, DD6 left it on a bus and we never saw it again.

IMHO, it's not worth the price.

We had fun with him for the first day. Eventually he became one more thing to carry around and he always ended up in the stroller or my WDW tote. I am still happy we have him. We bring him to WDW every trip just because. He just stays behind at our resort now.

We are getting one for our boys to share. We carry a backpack we we go to the parks so he can go in there if they get bored. We think it's pretty cool. :cool1:

We bought the older version last year for $13. There was a link on the budget board on where to get them. I forgot the place - it was some character outlet store in Florida.

For $13 he was great. He told us when the parades were going to start and little tidbits about different attractions. My DS5 is super afraid of fireworks but Pal Mickey "told him" he should see Fantasmic :wizard: . I wasn't going to take him due to his fear of fireworks and loud noises but DS5 insisted and he LOVED it! DS5 wants to go again this year.

The older version does not have info on new attractions.

The boys also play with Pal Mickey at home. He tells jokes and you can play games with him when not in the park. He is coming with us on our next trip to WDW! Maybe we will get him a new outfit.
