Sorry if this has been asked a lot, but I keep getting kicked out of the search page. Of the people who have bought/rented Pal Mickey, how many recommend it? How many do not?

Thanks!

We NEVER buy anything like it. But my daughter (11) wanted to use her money to do it. We are frequent visitors so I know it would get used again.

She didn't want to do autographs anymore and was at an age where many of the "people" characters "creeped her out" - the headed ones were okay. So we thought, alright, this will be her thing.

We all enjoyed it. I even wore him clipped to my belt for awhile. We were always saying to her "what did he just say?" "Is he vibrating?" It was cool - like having another person with us.

You can always rent a day and decide, but she's glad she got him.

We bought a Pal Mickey in March on our last trip. My kids are 13, 11, 9, and 6. We ALL enjoyed Mickey and look forward to using him on other trips. I must say that we only saw 2 or 3 other Pals during our trip which surprised me.

We love Pal Mickey. Can't wait for him to join us on our next trip!::MickeyMo

He was $60 to buy. We went ahead and bought it because we knew she would anyway after renting.

To rent it depends on how many days. One day was $10-12 and each additional day brought the per day price down to as low as about $8. I believe all or some rental money goes toward purchase.:earsboy:

Can you give an example of what he might say aside from jokes? Does he have something to say about all the attractions? does he describe or only make comments (like dont let me get wet)?

thanks!

I guess I'm the odd one here. We bought Pal Mickey last summer. We had him waiting for our dd in the room upon arrival. She took him to the park just a few times and hasn't bothered with him since. As a matter of fact, we kept the box and he's still in it, in her room. He is cute though...

My 4YO DD has already asked for one. I don't know where she saw him unless it was at the park last August or on Playhouse Disney.

I checked our local Disney Store last week and they don't carry them. Can you only buy them at the park (other than e-bay, of course)?

Yeah!!

I got one for my son last MNSSHP, it was sort of a splurge and I didn't know how it would go over but he wanted it. He loves it! and won't go to bed without it. It tells you things as you walk around the park; one time in particluar we were in AK and it told him about one of the birds we were watching that lived to be 100 years old. Well he took a picture of it and just had to tell everyone who told him about it.

IMHO, the absolute BEST souvineer you can by at WDW!

I've grown quite attached to the litte bugger and his corny jokes myself   :rotfl:

WE LOVE OURS!!! He sits on my desk at work (when I can wrangle him away from DD6) and tells all of us funny jokes when we need a tension breaker or stress reliever!!

My friend and coworker just went to Disney a week or two ago and borrowed him and she absolutely loved him!

We are going in September, can't wait!

We rented ours one day in the parks. It was alot of fun. One day costed us 8.00. We didn't want to buy him so we rented him and even took him from one park to the next. returned him late that night at our hotel gift shop. You leave them you credit card number and when you return him they charge you for how many days you decide to keep him. He was a little hard to hear but you can pree him and he will repeat his jokes. I would rent him again he was fun!

I really wanted to get a Pal Mickey. I actually had the $60 set aside to buy him. We received a free day's rental coupon for being passholders, so we decided to use it before actually purchasing one. I'm glad we did, because we ended up returning him early. I just didn't think it was worth the money. He didn't tell us anything we didn't already know, and the jokes got old, quickly. We may buy one in a few years, though, when our kids are a bit older.

I would definitely rent one first, to see if you like him. It's only $8 for a day (we rented him in the morning, and they told us we could have him until noon, the next day.) If you like him, the $8 goes toward your purchase, and you get a brand new one, in the box. If you don't like him, you're only out $8, instead of $60.

Definitly YEAH!! We love our Pal Mickey and can't wait to take him back..:)

Not sure who got more enjoyment out of him, me or the kids.lol

How big/heavy/clumsy is he? He seems absolutely adorable - but just wondering how easy it was to navigate the day with him - along with everything else you have; i.e. stroller, cameras, etc. There are 4 adults and 1 4 yo - so he sounds like something fun to have - but just don't want one more thing "I'll" be responsible to carry :earsgirl:

Great then you can all take turns carrying him! He's probably 11inches tall. He's easy to tote around. I attached him to my fanny pack or my kids held onto him. I was by myself with a 4 and 6yr old, we had a double stroller and sometimes the kids took turns holding onto him. No bother at all to carry around, honestly!!
