Hello,
I know that they do not sell Pal Mickey in the parks anymore, but does anyone know if they still work. I found mine and would like to let our 3y/o DD bring it for our trip in Oct

Thanks
Jay

My visit in January was a bit of a disappointment in the Pal Mickey arena. Most of the transmitters still work -- but there is no new content. My Pal Mickey still rattled off the routine comments specific to location -- but never told me about character opportunities, ride times or parade warnings. I remember he didn't work at all in one of the parks -- but I don't remember which park (sorry!). I don't think I'll be carrying him back to WDW for future trips. :(

Bummer!! I thought Disney said Pal Mickey would still work in the Parks!? I guess, he does....just not how he did in the past. We all got a kick out of the little guy....gonna miss him.:sad1:

Our Pal Mickey worked in all parks and included "somewhat" current info.
I spoke with a CM who told me that Pal Mickeys would work until the "wheels fell off" which means that as long as the current equipment works, without updating, Pal Mickey will work.
Our worked swimmingly, and we plan on taking him again.
BTW, we've had 2 trips since PM was discontinued and he worked great in all parks!

Ours is in use this week and has worked everywhere so far... just AK yet to try.

We went last January and as long as Pal Mickey's nose is pointed forward when you go through the turnstiles, he will automatically download anything new. Also he needs to be held, propped, what ever outward to pick up the signals. Ours worked without any problems, but my friend did not have hers out when she went through the turnstiles and Pal Mickey was "lost". He still thought we were in the park we had just left. I checked with CM and they confirmed our this. Have a great time!

I have found this to be not the case all the time. Our Pal Mickey gets all turned around all the time and he still acknowledges signals. Just our experience.

Also, there will be nothing "new" from the sensors since PM was discontinued. You will still get the information from when it was last updated which I believe was Dec 2008. As long as the sensors hold out, you will get to hear Pal Mickey talk, but they are not updating the sensors or any information going forward.
