Pal Mickey - How to carry around the Parks

I plan to buy a Pal Mickey when I visit WDW in July, but I am wondering what is the best way to carry him around the Parks.

What is the maximum width belt that his belt clip can be securely attached to and can the belt clip be detached from Mickey if the lanyard is being used?

Also, how is Pal Mickey attached to the lanyard and how secure is the lanyard? - I've read that the velcro fastening comes undone very easily.

I wondered how other people had got on with carrying Pal Mickey and what they felt was the most comfortable and secure way to carry him.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

We have the older model, but I think that the newer model also has a strip of webbing on Mickey's back that the laynard clips to. We just bought a carabiner at a local store and just used that and didn't bother with any clip etc. It was very easy to attach him to a backpack or belt and unclip him to hear him, but not so easy to come off when we were getting on and off rides etc.

A carabiner also work really well for us. We clipped him to our backpack and he hung there all week.

Thanks for your ideas.

I like the idea of the carabiner. However, I won't be carrying a backpack - I'll be using a shoulder type bag, so that's why I'm thinking of carrying him on a belt, but to make sure I can do that I wonder what is the maximum size belt I could wear that PM's belt clip can safely be attached to.

You could always use a carabiner for your belt also....just clip it right onto the belt...or even a belt loop. :goodvibes
