Paint the Night Blue Bayou packages

Oh gosh, now I'm really nervous about it. Reservation is for tomorrow at 6 so too late to cancel I guess. I wonder if I can ask the CM at BB the location and if it's the new one if I can switch to the regular menu instead of the package.

Hopefully by the time you get there, they will have switched it back? It seemed like no one was happy about the change, let us know what happens! Good luck!

There was a really unfavorable review on the Blue Bayou package on Reddit.

Kinda nervous about keeping our reservation now.

I went ahead and cancelled ours. It was too late to begin with, and after listening to the Disunplugged episode where they are helping a lady plan her & her family's trip for later this month, it sounds like it's not worth it. We just ate there in November anyway, so it's not like it's super special. It is our 25th anniversary we are celebrating though, so I was just looking for ideas for special things. I think I'm going to check into Walk in Walt's footsteps instead!

We did the Aladdin's Oasis PTN package this trip and really liked it! It was easy and affordable compared to BB. We did lunch reservations and thought the food was good. We ended up eating at AO which was a nice, shady break. The viewing area was very large and totally uncrowded. We could have arrived 10 minutes early and got a good viewing spot. The fireworks were postponed then stopped a few minutes in because of wind, but it's a good spot to watch those too.

If you're eating at BB anyway that package works well, but I think I would rather just get an early spot along Main Street or the Hub instead honestly.

Reporting back - unfortunately the BB area is still in front of the train station. The area might be bigger than during the bad Reddit review though. We got there 35 min before, there was already a pretty long line. We were able to get second row sitting and it didn't feel crowded behind us. The view of the parade (which was awesome - first time seeing it for us) was actually very good. After the parade we hemmed and hawed a bit before deciding to go further into Main Street, we didn't quite make it to Carnation Cafe. The view of the fireworks wasn't that great. Had to carry the kids - 4 and 7, they're heavy! The fireworks felt too long because my arms were falling off, haha. We did see Tinkerbell and Nemo but they were pretty small. I think DD (age 4) missed it.

The food and service at BB were great (first time there). Except for the part where they gave me wrong info. When we checked in for our reservation I asked if the PTN location was on Main Street and NOT in front of the train station, was told yes! I asked again after we were seated, answer was again yes! Was even told the area is even closer now. Then when we got the tickets at the end of the meal, the server (different one) told us it was at the train station. I was not happy. He said we weren't obligated to the package, but with what we ordered the price would not be that different. I would not have gone with the package if I had known and I would have ordered totally differently if we did not have the package. I did go to guest services (and wait in line) and filed a report. The CM seemed somewhat sympathetic but said there was nothing she could do.

Anyways, I am over my annoyance now. We really did enjoy our meal at BB (steak and chocolate cake were especially good). I guess not everything can be perfect, sometimes it is just good enough.

Our main goal is to have a good view of PTN (preferably curbside) and a good view of the fireworks facing the castle. Since we have 3 nights in DL park, maybe we would be best off with doing Aladdin's one night, then just staking out a spot for fireworks another night. My aim for the Blue Bayou package was to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, but honestly the lining up seems stressful and now the viewing location doesn't sound convenient for fireworks.

Please correct me if I'm wrong: The new location is great for PTN, but not good for fireworks. Since the pkg is for PTN, I really don't see Disney will change the location. Also, at the release of the BB PTN pkg, we did speculate that location could be at the train station. However, it was said the train station location was reserved for special event. Is the reserved area in that area of train station or is it a new spot?

Well now I don't know what to do. I'll be there in less than 3 weeks and I have this package booked because I definitely want to eat at BB and I have to see the parade but do I want to see it from the new area? And then what do I do about the fireworks? I am not familiar with Disneyland so I'm not even sure where the train station is, I just know I was really hoping to watch from Main Street. Sigh. Maybe I'll just keep the package and if I don't like the viewing area I'll skip it, watch the fireworks and then see the 2nd parade from Main Street instead. I don't know. This is so stressful haha!

The new area is in the triangular island (is that the right term?) with the flag pole in front of the train station. The reserved section is most of the base of the triangle facing the train station. I didn't look closely to see where the area ends, it might be when it starts to curve. I can kind of see why they moved it there (even if I don't like it), there is plenty of space for people to line up early.

From your description, it is very similar to the FP+ reserved area for the MK parades. Flag Pole "hub" in the town hall. It is a great area for parade and not bad for the fireworks, but too far for the projection show. I loved it when the FP+ area was in the central hub in front of the castle--you get best of both parade and fireworks.

It's even worse for a fireworks spot at DL because the castle is so much smaller and there are more trees.

The train station is right as you enter the parks, you pass under the track to enter town square. It's basically the open area at the base of Main Street and the castle hub is the open area at the top of Main Street.

Well, after following this for the past couple weeks, we've decided to cancel our reservations as well. We'll still eat at the BB but skip the dining package. We're going to try to catch the late show on Sunday night and find a good spot ourselves.

Hello! I have booked this package for April 13 (Wednesday ) but I don't want to see the parade at the train station . Anyways I think I will cancel it , which would be a good place to see both parade and fireworks without the package? Is Alladin package a better option to see both? Thank you
