Painkiller + Ibuprofen?

Ok so that link just said that numbness or tingling is a sign of migraine. Last night my whole left side got tingly and numb so maybe it's just a migraine?

:scared:

Not to worry you, but I would be in the ER right now with symptoms like that. DO NOT MESS with tingling and numbness. Could be a pinched nerve or it could be a stroke...anuerysm...etc.

If I were you I would head straight to the ER, especially because you've never had symptoms like this before. I would also have someone drive you there.

KUP!

It was quick tho?

There's really no way for an ER trip *Sigh*

ok I'm gonna force myself to get up and lay down and see if I can get it to go away...if it's not betterish later I'll highly consider instacare (step below ER)

Definitely see your Dr. if you think you are getting migraines. There are many RX medications that are very effective...no need to suffer.
In the meantime trying excedrin is a good idea, it can be harsh on the stomach so try to eat something first.
Feel better.

I hope you feel better...but I don't understand how there is "no way". Call 911 if you must.

Alot of aneuryisms are quick however some are lucky and get symtoms before its too late.

Hope your feeling better.

No insurance.

But it seems to be improving. I haven't had anything since 9 am and there's no throbbing. Just groggy from laying in bed all day.

Thanks for the imput everyone. I really appreciate it.

The ER is where you are supposed to go if you have no insurance. Your county hospital will take care of you.

I use excedrine sinus for my bad sinus headaches and it works very well. They do have a specific one for tension headaches.
Excedrine is acetaminophen, the sinus one contains a nasal decongestant. I would assume teh tension was has added medicine so I would just make sure they were okay to take ith the IB if you decide to go that route.

I never leave home without Excedrin - the aspirin free. Used to take the aspirin, but switched to aspirin free which now goes by Tension Headache Excedrin. And yes, I've also piggy back acetaminophen with IBU which can sometimes help.

Hope your headache subsides, OP. I've often had headaches that lasted for days which usually starts as tension in my neck and shoulders and shoots up from there. Try a heating pad for about 15 minutes on the base of your neck. Poor thing - I feel for ya:sad1:

Even if you just go to the doctor's office, they usually have a shot available there that they can give you. It's some kind of a migraine cocktail. A shot in your butt and you'll get really tired and most likely sleep off the pain.

I would get it checked out if I were you. I've been dealing with them for years, so I know how you're feeling. Get some rest and get off the computer. Reading does nothing for migraines.

Feel better. ((((HUGS)))):flower3:

Dang hmmm.. I may have coffee around here somewhere.

Coffee can be good medicine. Has kept asthma attacks at bay for me for 2 years, that and nettle tea, if I can get some inside of 20 minutes of starting to wheeze. And doesn't make me homicidal like albuterol does (homicidal is not a fun effect).

tingly and numb and a headache are also CLASSIC signs that you've done something a chiropractor can help you with. Call around, see if there are any who will be happy to work on a cash only basis.

I am going to jump in here and I am gonna be kinds of forward....

I am a nurse and I work in the neurosurgical ICU and I see people come in with headaches and have aneurysms all the time..... SO if you have never had a headache like this before and Ibuprofen has not helped then you need to go to the ER with or without insurance..... there should be no excuse for not going to the ER if you have a bad headache that is not normal.... PLEASE I ASK YOU TO GO TO THE ER!!!!

Please keeo us posted and feel free to PM me if you have any questions...

I didn't know coffee could help asthma! I don't get homicidal with my albuterol but I'd love to not have to take it as often..or have a fix when I'm without it.

I'll admit, I was worried when I woke up. The ibuprofen took it last night and then in the morning it didn't seem to so I posted this. After laying down (with my kids in bed next to me watching tv...great mommy) with a pillow over my head for darkness and silence, I'm doing good. I've had one previous migraine..I caught it fast (I got the orbs in my vision and FLIPPED til someone told me it was migraine) so I never got the headache. I'm just wondering if this time I didn't get orbs and it went straight to migraine?

Either way, time and rest helped thank goodness. Thanks for your expert opinion! If it had lasted much longer I was ready to suck it up and go in..even tho life would probably be a lot quieter without me around :rotfl:

Migraines can be scary as well as painful. My DD had one when she was in college, her first. She woke up with aphasia (couldn't get her words out) She went to the ER with a friend where a nurse told her she probably had had a stroke. Lucky the nurse didn't cause a stroke..I was furious.

Anyway a call to the Dr etc and it turned out to be a migrane..she recovered her speech within a few hours.

I am so glad you are OK!
