My hope was that the poster was making a tongue in cheek comment? Because inevitably when someone makes any credit related post a handful of posters come along clutching pearls (that they paid for in cash, of course) talking about how they would NEVER let a balance carry forward. My take is that life happens. Sure revolving debt is not ideal but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get through a rough patch and it's not always because somebody was spending hours shopping at the mall and buying new toys.Passive aggressive and condescending. You couldn't have just said, "So happy for you?"
OP - Congratulations! Debt free is indeed an amazing feeling.
Thank you! Exactly. We have been debt free for a couple of years, but the beginning of the year hit us hard. Praying 2017 will be much better financially!Sometimes things happen...no one WANTS to have debt. The first thing a lot of kids do when they hit 18 is take out loans for school and start off with debt being normal which is then hard to break... debt for school, houses and cars are all the norm here right or wrong. At that point, whats one more loan?
Congratulations on getting out of CC debt!![]()

If the poster intended it as it sounded, well then, I guess I proved my point.
Thanks for the info. I try to let things go, but by God we worked hard to pay as much of it off before the financial gift came through. And thank you for the congrats. So looking forward to Christmas shopping without stress.Seems like that person people are talking about likes to put people down with comments like that. Looking at some older posts
I thought of this thread when I was taking my DDs to the dentist and just one of them needs 2k in dental work done . The other needs braces and we made that appointment as well, I expect that to be in the thousands. Thanks for the info.
